Wolff: "In Australia the W15 showed 70 more load points than the W14 but we don't see it in the lap time!". The W15 did not suffer in the S Curves thanks to the Launch Spec bottom which was also used in Japan

Perhaps an inability to properly control the tires?

All they need now is for Toto to hire vettel to be the driver replacing Lewis and the transition to the midfield will be complete. Everyone else knows that vettel is washed up. He should not be one of your candidates for the seat. But what top driver in their right mind would want that seat now? Yup it will likely be vettel.
Toto previously said teams are missing out on Mick Schumacher so Mick could be a candidate...

At least they will win the destructors championship =D>

Tough times, The W13(more so) and 14 generally had great tire wear and now with the W15 they have lost that aswell.... James Allison take a bow lool So front limited tracks and rear limited tracks will show up these weaknesses race to race. Yes the car is still baseline and has had no significant updates but as Lewis said...." Its comfortable to drive " I just had a feeling that would bite him in the ass after qualy lool Its gonna be a long long season .
“And that’s part of the game, is being able to be adaptive, and we’ve got this new car – I don’t know how it’s going to handle, hopefully she’s great.”

In 8 months the final GP will be over and a day or two later there will be a post-season test and a certain someone will drive the red car. Hang in there
And they call it a stall. A STALL!

I will be looking out if any of our usual Mercedes team thread "visitors" come over to the Ferrari thread too! Lol.

I will be in the Mercedes thread still though. It's a team I have followed closely since they ran thier "ductless" F-duct.

I think a lot of people are/ or have given up on Mercedes now. Reading here and other F1 forums there is a lot of talk of lost faith in the team. Shame really. Its a very slippery slope Mercedes have to climb now and without a understanding of where/what to look for in the data they are struggling.

Almost like someone needs to give them a hint of you need to be aiming for this sort of downforce in this region in the data and what not.

Very skeptical about anything regarding their performance and solving their issues until they show it on track, its been the same back and forth for 3 years now, its still very early in the season so things can change but yea. What did he say exactly?

This team is rsturn to where it belonged.. an earth dreams honda of 2008.
The siliver lining is that Mclaren went through its dark times in the hybrid era. They were nowhere but took some time to get back to the top. And even at the top they can only hope for p3 on the podium.
Mercedes will not be winners for another 5 years maybe. They are so far behind on ground effect and pit stop tech.

I have been trying to look in more detail on the w15 to spot potential weaknesses with the floor and the suspension.
So far i can see the rear control arms pick up points relative to the diffuser, the floor edge and now the profile of the lateral cross section of the floor as to why they may be so sensitive to ride and temperature.
The team needs to poach some aero engineers. Not so much the higher level aero directors.
For Sure!!

^^
I see a top view pic of the merc on social media.... the front arms looked to cover a lot of area with the covers/shrouds. Are other teams like that?

I wonder why Mercedes didn't pit Lewis to take the fastest lap.
I genuinely think they did not even remember that this is a possibility, and were preoccupied with trying to salvage anything.
