I think Lando is good but he does drive qualifying very close to the edge. Even today he was very close to ending up P8 or so. He made a mistake on his penultimate lap.

I think that is probably because he is pushing a car further than it wants to go, but it does show that he makes mistakes in qualifying more often than most other top drivers. At least with this McLaren car. I bet he would make less mistakes in a Red Bull .

No, its the fact that every race day Oscar is slower than Norris, and has slow race pace compared to him, and he destroys his tyres trying to match Landos's times.....

Lando is just so damn good in the wet. There hasn't been any wet or mixed conditions race in recent memory where he hasn't either been crushing the field or at the very least keeping up with leaders on inferior cars.

That last stint on mixed conditions in Monaco last year with the initial-spec MCL60 was just incredible. IIRC he was 0.5s up on Max on average.
