Upgrades need to improve thermal degradation.

Like earlier in 2023, they work the tyres too much. The rain performance and general quali performance confirms it. Hopefully it can be adjusted mid-season like they did last year and bring a better car for Sundays even without adding any pure performance

It's crucial in order to Ferrari because even with more downforce it won't be helpful if degradation doesn't improve markedly

Well, that's more like the truth. Or Lando will be able to make British rain.

There was interesting contrast to chassis responses at turn #14 (end of long straight) with the Ferrari, when CS got inside CL you could see how much rotation of the rear was in play as his rears hit CL tire to to tire with that release on rear axle when transition was at peak.

The McL in contrast was seen with fronts turned with significant "push" and front axle scrub along with very low lateral movement on rear axle. A very different stance, likely to bring higher degradation to fronts specifically from what looked like severe scrub.

Piastri didn't sound too optimistic when asked before the race. He said it felt good in the qualy but not sure if it will be a long day today.

One thing that was interesting is that the cameras caught Lando throwing it into T1 on the inside on his run to the grid - he was testing how deep he can go. Maybe we see Lando throwing it into T1.
