Williams FW46

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

The nose of the Williams is very soft on the front flat surface. Just seen the slow motion study of the final corner bouncing and whole nose section is flexing with the front wing.
If i would get the money to start my own F1 team, i would revive Arrows

Suzuka upgrades:

Williams' novel front wing diveplane has been replaced by a more conventional design:

The revised geometry on the inside of the endplate includes 2 horizontal fins:

There were reports Sargeant would lose the upgrades after his crash due to a lack of spares. However, he never ran the new endplates, including when he crashed. So there were never enough parts for both cars.
In qualifying, neither car used the low downforce options, both instead opting for the same previously used beam wing and rear wing.

The low downforce rear wing looks like a carry over from 2023:

Even one of the slower, "in-crisis" teams in F1, produces such beautiful pieces of engineering art. Good stuff, and best wishes Williams. Keep fighting the fight.

It does, doesn't even have the newer style connection between flap and endplate that became so popular accross the grid.
