He was already lucky to not destroy the car.
Yeah, so lucky, overheating clutch after 3 laps is not at all a potential gearbox issue
I think its more likely a driver error...
Are we not assuming the clutch overheated while Charles was not moving trying to spin the car.

Annoyingly it seems like Lewis was happy to wait for Charles to turn but he missed the opportunity. I hope he wasn't trying to save the tires with his failed mini spin. At least Carlos looks strong...

Very small gains coming from hards to softs in S1.
edit: better S1 on his second attempt. As usual

Well. The clutch has a paddle on the wheel that the driver is 100% in control. Barring an actual mechanical failure, the most likely cause of overheating is the driver slipping and slamming the clutch, on purpose.

They did a front wing adjust after the first push lap. Might have helped.

Seems a very easy WE for RB.

Max was P1 with an awful third sector.

I have a sneaky feeling these high track temperatures are going to work really well for Ferrari both in Quali but the race in particular...

No doubt. They have the worst warmup and best deg of the top teams. High track temps means naturally it is better for them

We'll see, sprint quali will be +1C ambient and cloud cover is going away so it's going to be very toasty.

That whole spin seemed very strange. Almost like the ERS just dumped full power on him without warning.

could have been a gust of wind, or just the wrong setup and the car lost traction after coming off the kerb. It did look odd, though. He wasn't going THAT fast there. Lots of drivers were having early issues today including ALO and VER.

How much setup can they do DURING the sprint qualifying? Or are they locked in once the car hits the track in SQ1?

Even if they weren't locked, there's not enough time to change suspension settings and such. They can always tweak wings though.

Even at 48 C they need 2 laps to get the tyres up to temp.

Leclerc is clearly washed. /s
But we're lucky that Norris is garbage in qualifying.

Overheated clutch, no reverse after spin. How do these things happen only on Leclerc's side of the garage?
Because its super obvious that Ferrari kept the wrong driver.
