What about Piastri then?

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
What about him? He went as fast in SQ3 as he did in SQ2. Lando was 9 tenths slower in SQ3 compared to SQ2, and 3 tenths behind Piastri in the theoretically slower car. Neither of them drove a perfect lap, but Lando's was far worse.
It's really frustrating when you folks maintain an argument without informing yourselves, especially when I already posted the video about it.

This is the onboard of both Piastri and Norris in S1. Both cars are sliding through all of those corners in the same way. Both Piastri and Norris took a bad T1 and bad entry into T2 that caused the car to slide in T5?

I get accused of being aggressive by Hollus but does Hollus follow up with this obvious trolling as well?

Any chart showing tyres available after SQ ?

Thank you.
So everyone used one set of new mediums each in SQ1 and SQ2. Then what were the commentators harping about, when they said Redbulls saved a medium set in SQ compared to other teams ?

Agreed. Surface of the tyre was cooked leading to a poor S1. Luckily the straight brought the surface tyre temp back under control. Eventually leading to the fastest S3 of all. People saying MCL will have high deg just based off this quali might get quite a scary surprise. This car easily had the pace to take pole yesterday bar a mistake

Suzuka race saw the track at about 40°C at the start, McLaren was cooking even Hards like crazy. Today the track will be over 45°C the entire Sprint. It's not a coincidence, it's just the state of things
And they call it a stall. A STALL!

Ferrari should have no bother getting the tyres 'up to temperature' this weekend then. So they should be on the ball immediately.

As discussed in McLaren team thread, both cars cooked their Softs in SQ3 leading to twitchy cars. From what I can tell, fronts were troublesome and too hot in T1-2-3, so the rears had more grip leading to snaps of oversteer.

The big question is how much will Red Bulls slide and deg in the Sprint. They both have 2 sets of Hards, so they can fit Hards in Sprint and forget about overheating
With 45C-50C track temps and only one 'cooling window' T16 to T17 straight, before the winding S1 ; I think it will be sub-optimal to go into Sunday's GP without two sets of H tyres - increases flexibility around safety car events as well. It will be a good idea to somehow get the sprint done (begins with lower fuel than race anyway) using M, rather than H. Sprint offers smaller points.

McLaren now strong on the straight, slow speed and high speed. Pressure on RB
Mclaren has serious mid-range pull, I dont remember seeing this before. Look at the delta trace on straight. Verstappen lost ~0.4s on straights alone. And RB is not running some super loaded wing either.

Likely the consequence of Max making a problem before the left hander compromising his entry and exit onto the long straight at the end of the lap.

If you look back at the medium laps, those straights are neigh on equal. Couple hundreths at best.

we have had those rules for over a year now, and they still come up with nonsense like that? The rules require one new set of M in SQ1 and one new set of M in SQ2. It's not even allowed to use used tires.

The Merc engine has been the best for a while now, it was 3rd best at the start of 2022 but has been improved significantly. Margins are still small, but they have a lot of grunt. I believe Norris also has a new engine in the car.

Its funny . When youve been catching up with the history of Senna and how F1 was back then.....To now with this sterile shite. PR drivers, boring to watch cars and the over sensitive FIA stewards with souless social media tacked on ,it just sums up where this apparent sport is going. All the fun is off track for peace sake,
Nothing more to add.
Still interesting enough for both of you to sign up here in the past few months though?
Me signing up here is in no way any indication on how interesting/ not interesting the current F1 is, but rather my yearlong personal interest in this sport. Thus I think everybody is entitled to feel about the direction we’re taking as he/she sees.

They were likely referring to Max doing just 1 lap in SQ2? That means his used set has a bit more life in it as the rest who all went out earlier and did multiple laps.

Quite possibly they worked out that it would have taken too long to sufficiently cool the tyre down to get another run in on the same set. I think they did do multiple cool laps at one point, could have been SQ1 or very late in practice.
