This. The job tomorrow is to keep Max under pressure - probably not quite the pace to win in a straight fight but close enough to make it hard and then you never know what can happen.LM10 wrote: ↑04 May 2024, 23:17Very good job from both drivers! Keeping Perez behind was crucial and the same can be expected for tomorrow looking at the pace in the sprint race. As expected the car came alive on the hot track.
How the base SF-24 performs against the upgraded cars is really encouraging.
Someone I know who most certainly has links with slightly more profiled people at Red Bull said they far exceeded expectationsSpace-heat wrote: ↑04 May 2024, 21:04Wasn't the expectation 1-1.5 tenths?scuderiabrandon wrote: ↑04 May 2024, 20:40I believe the upgrades for Red Bull far exceeded expectationsLetHimTrough wrote: ↑04 May 2024, 20:29And Red Bull brought upgrades in Suzuka.
Do we have an idea of how fast this new Red Bull is?
I think it is brilliant, and bodes well a Ferrari v1 vs Red Bull v1.5 and lose only 3sec in 19 laps. Even factoring other considerations.

Can not see Sainz agreeing to that. He is such a cerebral driver he will want to optimize his race, plus he is out next year. Crucial for Charles to not lose positions at T1. Hopefully the better quali performance is not at the expense of race pace. Agree with others, race is with Perez, but be in position for the win if Ver has a problems (Aus).Vanja #66 wrote: ↑04 May 2024, 23:26Sainz should try to undercut Max for second stint and Leclerc should go long on first. 2 on 1 gives this option for extra pressure, but they both need to do their job and work together for the team. On pure pace there's nothing they can do, RB20 is simply too good for that.
LEC seems confident he can put pressure on VER.f1316 wrote: ↑04 May 2024, 23:19This. And considering that -at least for the moment- car is comparitevily significantly better in race trim.
He seems confident IF he can stay within DRS which is much easier said than done. Just look how much harder Red Bull can push the tyres at the start of the race. And they do this whilst having good levels of degradation.deadhead wrote: ↑04 May 2024, 23:37Higher temperatures = no warm up issue

Let’s hope SAI doesn’t go ballistic like he did in China again.
