Part of me still feels that this might be 1 of because this is a ultra low degradation race which would play into McLarens hands, possibly in combinations with Red Bull getting their set up wrong which would of course also help McLaren.

Exactly that. He was electric on older mediums. Faster than new hards on everyone else. He had loads in the tank

It was a quick drop off and I was just wondering whether he picked up damage or not. I don't doubt Lando's tire saving measures. He has become a bit of an expert in utilizing the best of Pirellis.
