Formu1a.uno reports:

“Ferrari will lap at Fiorano with the SF-24 2.0 between Thursday 9th and Friday 10th. Similar to pre-Austria 23, the important package of updates that the Maranello team will officially bring to the track from Imola will debut”

Interesting. Two things come to mind:
- they want to come as prepared as possible and wrap up the Imola comparative spec-test as quick as possible (or avoid them completely) to focus on track setup
- the update package really is big and important for the rest of the season, since they are willing to use the second filming day after only a quarter of races

Holy mother of all overreactions.

Just because one team brought an upgrade one race earlier.
This is how it is for Ferrari, media gives so much presence and wants to boost clicks with sensational headlines. Reallistically, with regards to the end of 2023 Ferrari overperformed with launch-spec SF24 and MCL38 was a bit too conservative so far. This update was pretty much what I expected them to start the season with, to be honest.
AeroGimli.x

And they call it a stall. A STALL!

Ferrari is still in a much better position than Mclaren, provided the upgrades work. The car is consistent, works in different conditions/tracks and only has a couple of things to improve but nothing too major (slow speed, bit of drag reduction, getting tyres up to temperature).

Remember that Ferrari focused more on consistency this year (rightfully so) and were a bit conservative, but now is the time to unlock performance. The question isn't if Mclaren has surpassed Ferrari, but if Ferrari with the upgrades will be better than RB IMO.

Operationally, strategies and pit stops have been very good, ok at worst which is still much better than previous years. I must say... i am so excited for Imola :)
I think that's over-stating it. Clearly McLaren have a more aggressive program. And they are getting more out of upgrades than anyone else.
McLaren is clearly more determined to succeed in Formula 1. Ferrari is more focused on the road car business.
I think some of y'all got lost. This isn't the Youtube comment section folks.

Indeed. Given the tone and politeness of answers, it has to be Twitter here.

Please explain how McLaren is more determined to win than Ferrari then. Is it from bringing a big upgrade a race before Ferrari did?

It's not related to the updates being introduced these days.
Six-seven years ago, Ferrari was fighting for the title (with the best car along the pitlane) while McLaren was seemingly on the same way down as Williams. Then Ferrari went through the so called Marchionne reorganization, the very embarrassing motorgate, years of ineptitude, a few sporadic surges of the old spirit but basically no plausible plan to conquer the title again (particularly in terms of hirings and investments in the technical department). All in all, conservatism ruled there. As opposite, McLaren had the courage of discontinuing the partership with Honda and completely rebuilding their organization (they fired team principle and chief designer, on top of aggressively chasing top notch professionals leaving top teams). Ferrari made a lot af marketing announcements and promises (not only by Binotto), McLaren kept their mouth shut and worked hard. Year after year I delude myself we'll see Ferrari fighting again the way they used to, and then regularly I end up convincing myself they have become a luxury brand much more than a racing team.

Please list those other than Vigna's outburst at the start of 2023 season, as that is the reason why he's no longer allowed to stick his nose into Scuderia's business.

As far as I'm concerned, one of the biggest gripes people had for Binotto was the opposite: complete lack of ambition (see 2022) and accountability. He never promised anything.
Nor did Arrivabene really.

Ahhhh! Forgot that race. Ricciardo!

OK, I stand corrected; Two wins in 12 years.

A team that used to start from the bottom of the pitlane some six years ago, and got two wins in ten years is mounting a more credible challenge to the title -for the second year on a row- than the very rich and very well established Ferrari team. Who is doing better right now? Who is in your opinion the more motivated one right now?

Not true. Binotto kept on repeating the team had the strength to win the title and would deliver eventually.

Mounting a more credible challenge by what metric?
They were behind in WCC in 2023, they are behind now.

Dude what, what promises they have made for you, they are also putting there head down and working. More luxury than a racing brand lol, ferrari always maintained top 3 spot more so than any team, they have had more successful gt program than McLaren, and also went on to win lemans last year. They also outscored mclaren 2and half of last year, they also outscored McLaren last race where they won.. also they are putting together sail boat racing team.. they are every bit about racing more so than McLaren.. mr. Zak "dontbring politics to sports" brown has been hinting about lmdh and all we hear is crickets..
