So with all that, I think Ferrari will be able to get close to RB in Shanghai, Miami and Imola and possibly challenge for the win in Monaco and Canada.

Mclaren.
Did they really? How good was Piastri without new floor and bodywork? Usually he's quite clearly slower than Norris over a race, but not this time

Why on god’s earth is it difficult for Ferrari to end up second best in WCC?
Apparently, Scuderia Ferrari does not care about F1 at all. Wonder how they got to sign 7-time-champ with that kind of attitude :?

The article is well put and comprehensive, but hopefully the hopium thins down. Vasseur was clear - there can't be big steps in car development any more. :) Red Bull are well in the lead and Imola will be more like Japan and China most likely, since they too will bring a set of updates

The interesting bit will be seeing what kind of change will they make on the rear wing
Very underwhelming indeed. Let's hope they'll end up second best in WCC (difficult). And let's acknowledge Vasseur's intellectual honesty nevertheless. He's not saying we're playing catch up, we're just one tenth behind, in the second half of the season blah blah... He's already saying "no way" even before traditional turning point of Barcelona.
Why on god’s earth is it difficult for Ferrari to end up second best in WCC?
Last time I checked there was a misterious orange car quite out of the reach of ours.

If SF24 2.0 package as good as team hopes, i think even top1 WDC will be possible.

Marketing. Luxury companies like Ferrari all take a lot of care in selecting most appealing testimonials.

I don't have enough time to find the post, but in a different post you said Red Bull would have an easy win in Miami. I remember it because I was annoyed by it.

In any case, your own post are contradictory:

I don't get your point. Mclaren was in another world. The both of us have to accept this. The performance of Red Bull and Ferrari wasn't good enough here. That was going to be 20 seconds minimum beating if Norris started on pole. At least Ferrari have a major upgrade package to look forward to.
Norris didn't manage to overtake Perez on track and after Perez went into pits he was not really closing the gap to Sainz. It was only after the SC on new hards when he was clearly faster than the rest, but he could have not gotten any more lucky pitting for new hards and restarting from P1. The tires hate to be put through a second heat cycle after cooling down which happened to everyone's tires behind Norris.
Not being able to overtake is a different matter. It's because of the circuit. I'm talking about Norris's pace in free air compared to everyone else in free air and that's what the teams care about too.

And by the way, Norris was eating Sainz alive after Perez pitted. I'm not sure what data you found. Norris was taking 3-4 tenths a lap from lap 19-26 when Sainz pitted, and then still going faster than Sainz,Leclerc, Verstappen by 1-2 tenths when those guys put on new hard tires. No one was talking about it in the race thread before the safety car. Only I made a post when I saw the laptimes:

I stand corrected. I didn’t pay much attention to it while watching. Norris managed to decrease the gap to Sainz by about 4 tenths per lap on average. Though, I think that Sainz might have stressed his tires more being within DRS range of Leclerc for several laps and pushing.

Though, the Hards Norris’ pace advantage (corrected for much fresher tires, free air and only one restart after SC) was not so big anymore. Especially Leclerc on 12 laps older tires than Norris and 7 or 8 laps older tires than Max managed it pretty well and basically matched Max’ pace despite being in his dirty air.

Probably for the same reason, the money that was freed up after the budget cap in F1, Ferrari put it into VEC instead of luxury cars. :D

On top of that, Charles' tires had his third warm up in a stint (which were hard to do on the SF24) and Lando's was his first.

Did Norris not win because of Safety Car? :o

Getting close to someone who still has an easy win is quite possible. How close was Norris to Sainz in Singapore, but was still never gonna win? Is Miami not known for very few passes?

Indeed, they seem contradictory. What I didn't add is the apparent comparative advantage RB has when running Bahrain/Suzuka/China downforce level, which I noted in RB team thread the other day... Or, more accurately, the disadvantage they have when running lower-df levels in a track which is not a clear low-df track like Jeddah. We've seen this happen in Australia and now in Miami too. Same balance issues two times, though Miami is not a high-deg track so RB20 didn't have deg like it did in Australia.

Norris was in the DRS range of Perez.

In the final stint on Hards, Norris wasn't really pushing. Norris tire advantage is overstated. There was no deg in Miami.
