The internal management shift within Honda, after the 2021 championship win, made them reconsider to the effect they didn't want to dispose of IP as originally spoken about through their withdrawal notification.

In addition, if RB took on that IP they wouldn't be considered a NEW engine manufacturer,, as such the consequential allowance to research, budget and bringing to fruition a new power unit under those consent rules would not be available to them. Effectively no transfer of existing IP took place, I believe.

Staff recruitment obviously comes with previous experience, which is transfer of knowledge,,and quite acceptable of course.

Top teams all upgrading their cars, except AM. So the gaps might be status quo with Red Bull leading with Ferrari and McLaren fighting behind and Mercedes behind those two.

Aston Martin are upgrading. Other than McLaren, I don't know who isn't upgrading.

Adrian Newey impressed yesterday during the Historic Grand Prix in Monaco.

What a time to be alive for Adrian Newey. Luxury yacht on the way. Driving classic F1 cars at Monaco. Can do a bit of work if he feels for it. Beautiful villa in Italy possibly

I think this will put to bed, the 'time loss' debate about what exactly was the loss that Max suffered as a result of hitting the bollard base in the 14-15 chicane complex in Miami. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aer621LdvOo

TLDW : all the loss is coming from T17 reflex angle turn at the end of long straight.

Curious to know where that article or interviewer specifically got the information that Newey wants to build a car for Hamilton?

One off the cuff remark about how it would have been nice to work with Hamilton has certainly gained a life of its own.

,
As far as I know Newey only said that it was a pity that he never worked with Alonso, Lewis and another driver,
I don't remember his name. That was all.

From thin air I reckon

This was Newey response to Lewis talking about him joining Ferrari.

Asked for his response to Hamilton’s words in an interview with Sky Sports F1, Newey said: “It’s very kind of Lewis to say that. I’m very flattered, but at the moment it’s just take a little bit of a break and see what happens next.”

For the time being, Newey insists he has “no plan” regarding what he will do next, explaining that his initial aim is to “step back, take a bit of a break and take stock of life”.

There was no "other driver". Just Lewis Hamilton and Frenando Alonso. But he also DID say Ferrari. Newey recently ruled out AMR. I think it was due to Lance as a driver -- showing AMR wasnt serious about winning. So, going to Ferrari he would get two dream goals: Lewis Hamilton and Ferrari. He has always admired Lewis. Marko also said he thinks Newey is going to Ferrari -- inside scoop from a mouth that traditionally can't keep mum about anything?

The Lotus 49 (B introduction Monaco Grand Prix) was a Formula One racing car designed by
Colin Chapman and Maurice Philippe for the 1967 F1 season.
It was designed around the Cosworth DFV engine that would power most of the Formula One grid through the 1970s.

good old Google ! - you can find anything you want there

but actually ...
the 49B was designed early in the 1968 season - for the 1968 season
not for the 1967 season - as you have wrongly stated above

my sources are this site's database and the Doug Nye book 'History of the Grand Prix Car'

Looking at the wiki page (and yes well aware how bad that can be) it had Philippe as the Chief designer, with Chapman as the technical director..

But think at the least on that you have it as a Philippe car particularly back then when teams weren't the bit technical groups they are today
