He set a 23.4 first sector on both laps. You pointed out in the press-conference that the extra speed from tow took him out of the rhythm for Tamburello on the second run. Discussions about the tow are "if my mother had balls" territory. He could conceivably have achieved the same result without it considering the S1 from the first run.
Regarding tomorrow, I agree that they hardly have the pace to win. Mclaren will be in imperious form once Norris settles into the groove. A podium result is good damage limitation. One couldn't expect Red Bull to win all races this year. In many championship seasons, individual drivers are only winning 9-10 races and simply being consistent in the rest.
