The effects of no Newey to connect the dots. They need to learn to solve problems without him.
.
It is completely ridiculous to suggest that the loss of Newey has anything to do with it.
So you are saying that Newey had zero impact on the team while he was there then?
For Sure!!

On set-up? Close to zero, yes.

I think anything other than a front row lock-out for Chuck and Chili would be a disappointment today. This will be their best chance of winning a race on merit for a while I think and they might need two cars up front to guarantee a win tomorrow.

Can’t see a front row lockout. We’ll see, but both have a tendency to bottle it or bin it under pressure

Hardly going to be enough, engine mode is not a big deal in Monaco, certainly not when you are trailing by over half a second.

Leclerc not only had his engine turned up, but he was clearly making a clear attempt to push harder than others. He's basically 'ahead' on confidence-based time gains than others, but it also means he might not have quite as much to gain as others going into Saturday as diminishing returns set in. Sainz certainly doesn't look anywhere near as competitive, so I dont think the Ferrari itself is somehow clearly best and not this complete lock for pole or whatever that many think. Times will improve a fair bit more by Q3, which means it's still not certain who has the ultimate highest potential.

1:11.5 on worn mediums in FP2, Jesus Christ. The cars are going to be crazy fast in quali this year. My 1:09 prediction is starting to feel realistic.

I didn't think I could be any more optimistic about Leclerc's chances of pole than I already was.
1.09 is pushing it. It seems track is slower today.

It will be easy pole for Lec in any case, aint no one beating him today.

Red Bull doesn't seem to ride curbs super well.

Car is stiff. Curb riding seems to be a recurring issue for them.
FER looks great and even McLaren looks better mounting curbs

Max is basically just avoiding the tricky kerbs. Nouvelle, swimming pool and final corner he's avoiding them because they just unsettle the car way too much

Yeah, and when he tries hitting them it looks bad.
