30 race weekends = 60 weeks = A one year Older Alonso. He is getting older. That's inevitable.
He probably has in hair plugs, beard hair dye, and prescription contact lenses to hide his aging process to please the sponsors and fans who think his abilities are eternal. There has to be a cross over point where the skills wane.
Instead of just shouting every dumb thing that comes into you head. Bring evidence that it's cause he old. Cause you know he finished 11th or worse my times in previous years.

Car is in a very sorry state with upgrade packages having failed yet we are blaming the drivers. Talk about not getting to the point of the matter. Reminds me of the Mercedes thread some time ago.

As I wrote before, you are just biased. 1 month (!!!) ago ALO did a superb Q in Shanghai, or Suzuka before. He didn't lose his reflexes and concentration in this short time period.

I think it's natural that some guys waited for this weak phase of ALO for a very long time. Once ALO bounces back, surely he will, this guys suddenly disappear.


@Binotto
This man could be good for AMR, especially as a connecting link between the engineers at Sakura and Silverstone in the process of PU integration into the car. Furthermore he has the knowledge how a big team (Ferrari) operates, what tools they need and how to use it.

German/austrian media also reported that they made a big money offer to Wache (who stays at RBR).

Turning back to the race. They should create a rule that, under red flag conditions, allow cars to replace tires but not count it towards being a 2nd type of tire required to finish the race. It would have forced a pit stop by all the teams. Bet alot of teams that had started on hards would have stayed on hards, preventing a possible safety issue with teams running so long on 1 compound. Basically forcing teams to make pitstops during a race. Or only make it count if there is a minimum number of laps run on previous set of tires.

Real question is : for how many more months will Stroll Sr. continue to count on these people? As you say he tests people, do you think they have successfully passed the "Stroll Sr." test?

We count 4 key figures for the moment, being approached by Aston in less than 6 months, Lawrence is seeing a clear problem in that specific area, otherwise he would not have contacted them.

Alonso was 3rd at the standings last year with 117 points at this stage, 9 points off the second place. This year is 9th with 33 points. And the reason is : car performances.

Green didn't go voluntarily, but the team didn't replace him immediately.

Stroll / Whitmarsh are obviously not happy with the current leadership structure. Otherwise you don't hire a 66 year old Bob Bell.


Nimmervoll - motorsport-total:

He has good contacts to Marko and RBR Austria gang, but he isn't one of the journalists who is regularly in the paddock like Schmidt or the italian/spanish guys. I doubt he has any insights in AMR, only what Marko told him...

BTW From the increasing articles about Binotto, I am sure that the offer has already been made and the ball and decision are in Binotto's camp now. Will Fallows accept having Binotto as M+1, he left Red Bull for more leadership?

Someone at AMR told Schmidt that indeed the 2023 car from the start of the season was by far the best car. Easy to drive , gentle to the tyres. Once they started to upgrade the car on data they have more DF, beginning in Montreal last year, but also Imola this year, but they can’t translate it onto the track. The car is very hard to drive now. He thinks they should stop upgrading the car for now and should focus on making the car easier to drive, simply understand it.

He also said that the new fw will return in Montreal.

CTO is a tools and process job with an eye on the car. His primary responsibility will be to make sure their using the latest and greatest tools, processes and that they work as expected. He'll oversee all technical activities, set performance targets, and identified future technologies for the car.

Also, Fallows might need help. He can't do everything. It might have been agreed that they would get a replacement for when the new Wind Tunnel came online.

I also think that part of CTO's job is looking at the Technical director job finding out what's missing. Then get him what he's lacking.

As you mentioned, He's having problems finding a CTO. You need to find BETTER replacements before you let people go.

Look at McLaren. Some people over at that Forum had been calling for Peter Promondou's head for years. Yet he's still there. Still high in the org. Good Technical people, technical problem solvers, are hard to find.

I think Krack is doing a good job and part of Team principle's job is being done by Lawrence. So I'm sure he works closely with Lawrence. If LSS wasn't happy with him, he would have been gone a long time ago. I think if there is anyone that LSS can evaluate without help of anyone else it Krack.

Regardless of who they hire. I believe there is something fundamentally wrong with their tools and how their data is acquired. There has been reports of a disconnect between direction the track engineers want vs the guys back at factory. They have brought more performance parts than anyone else and yet have regressed. They need to stop further upgrades and figure out where they have gone wrong. The whole mix and match, repeated testing etc is clearly a sign of a team that has no idea where they are heading. Lawrence will not tolerate that at all but at the end of the day, Lawrence is not an engineer and doesn't necessarily understand the processes that go behind engineering a complex machine like this.
