Ocon and Russell is an absolutely diabolical lineup. I can’t believe Toto would do this. In fact I won’t believe it until it’s official.
Ocon is a Toto brain child. And he takes care of them. If Ocon can't find a drive anywhere else , he probably gives him the mercedes seat. Against his better judgment.

The speed of the team would be solid. But the chemistry would be bad

Ferrari is no longer the strategy idiots of the field, that’s for sure. Option 1 would be to leave Lewis on his mediums with the short amount of laps left, and option 2 to give the softs a go and hope for the best. Going for hards that is clearly a slower tyre was for sure the worst option. Still would have finished 3rd and 4th either way, but calls like these are worrying.

Whats funny is that if Lewis just stayed out on the medium. I think he has a chance to finish 2nd in that race.

Hard tyre on a cold track, with a handful of laps remaining. Takes the cake.

Hamilton's wheel to wheel skills are gone. He is as passive as Bottas defending and he is not aggressive enough on the brakes - getting stuck behind ALO was unacceptable.

I must admit he didn’t shut the door for RUS to take the inside on the back straight, so that was poor - but it is his teammate. As for ALO, it’s tough to pass with 1 dry line; youre just asking for trouble. Ramp up the pressure & RUS is a calamity waiting to happen.
Team ANTI-HYPE. Prove it, then I’ll anoint you.

:wtf:

Ocon is fast, Russell is fast. They both push to the Max (and over), nothing wrong with this line-up.

If bits of carbon-fibre from the Mercedes GP composite shop get strewn over the track when #63 and #31 touch, that's totally fine. It's all jolly good fun. :D

Other drivers were getting it done. No excuse, particularly when Hamilton was much, much faster.

As for the Russell overtake, he only needed to gently squeeze him at the chicane. Russell would have absolutely done that to him.

Team orders were to race but keep it clean, he did what the team told him, they also put him on slower tires after he was on the radio multiple times saying he wanted to go onto the softs and was basically told no, hards.

Great result for Merc, they're fighting for podiums again and with them expecting the front wing to give even more performance in Barcelona along with more upgrades it should go well for them

There was almost literally nobody getting it done.

on Alonso? Slamming it up the inside of Alonso, considering his feelings towards Lewis, is a quick way to screw up your race.

In the end, being patient worked out. Saturday killed his Sunday, not being behind Alonso...he must fix his Saturdays. And Mercedes must not put on hard tyres in this conditions again...the hell they thinking

Passing was impossible. Alonso has the same engine, and Lewis setup was a little more downforce.

Lewis did show Russel how its done to pass Piastri cleanly on slower tyres than Russel.

I think Lewis is propping up George. When Russel tried to pass.. I could swear Lewis opened up the space to prevent both of them from coming together. :?:
He could have held the inside and blocked George, but he didn't. I found that to be too kind.
For Sure!!

Lewis did the same exact thing to Alonso last year and was on his gearbox on the pit straight. He forced George and Alonso to the inside line to compromise their exit out of that corner. He was right behind George too.

Just so everyone knows just how much Lewis DID NOT want to go onto the hards, this is only one of many radio messages of him saying no to the hards

Lewis shaking his head and not saying a word after the race and just sits in the car, seems pretty pissed they didnt listen to him about the softs, cant blame him
