top throttle usage suggests very low engine mode for RB, as usual on Friday

let's see what FP2 brings

Marko says that it is the best Friday of the last races. The problems they have are a matter of fine tuning rather than something they can't expect to overcome. He says McLaren look strong however, but that was expected given their form

Not sure why they're even trying their mid-load wing with Max, it's not loaded enough. They went full Monaco-load last year, when they had a bigger margin than they do now
And they call it a stall. A STALL!

Surprised Perez is that far behind, he had a pretty clear track and did his soft tire run a bit after the rest

Yeah I don't understand it either. They're chasing a perfect 1-lap balance on a track with high rear tyre degradation

Going to need some overnight magic from Buemi, Lawson et al.
Max: "The tyres are too hot, so I'm just sliding on every axle."
Max: "My tyres are completely cooked. No grip."
GP: "Still useful learning Max."
Not really a shock with this wing

He had traffic in sector 2, just like max on his fastest lap.

ok, after first run on medium I heard a team radio of him asking to change back the wing, I think that they did not do it, right ?

Marko sounded fairly confident on German Sky. They weren't as far off as the past weeks, and running low engine modes. Setup wasn't ideal, but okay on the longrun, and to improve it, they needed to fix change rear wing, which would have cost them 20 minutes. Focus is on Sunday, when conditions will be cooler.

ok, so they ran entire FP2 with wrong rear wing, I guess this was the "aggressive" change Marko talked about after FP1, but in the end it did not work

definetely a better starting point than last races, hopefully they do the usual jump forward for tomorrow
