We all know that the car is limited in one lap pace, there is not much the team can do about it. Long run pace looks super competitive.
This is a track you can overtake quite easily on. So, I wouldn’t be so pessimistic
Starting P5/6/7 and overtaking the likes of AM, RB, Alpine is one thing, overtaking the current Red Bulls, McLarens and Mercedes's is clearly very much another thing even on an easy to overtake track.Sphere3758 wrote: ↑28 Jun 2024, 13:39This is a track you can overtake quite easily on. 1) Sainz and Leclerc both said it would be better.

I don't think that Donadoni said the Barcelona update was worth 5 tenths. I think he said that included Imola, and reflected the total value of updates brought so far this season. Feel free to correct me if I misunderstood.SoulPancake13 wrote: ↑27 Jun 2024, 19:50The overall gain they could find is 6 tenths. They expected to see 5 tenths this weekend since they haven't fully optimized the upgrade yet. They only saw 3.5 tenths. Theoretically then, the max from the upgrades would be 4.5 tenths.yooogurt wrote: ↑27 Jun 2024, 19:44hmm 3.5+1.5+1 = 6, when team expect 5.SoulPancake13 wrote: ↑27 Jun 2024, 19:22I asked Donadoni on twitter for some clarification on the upgrades(I don't know Italian so I rely on translation services a lot for the articles). He said that the team expected to see a 5 tenths improvement, but only saw 3.5 tenths of it. There is one tenth they can gain from just optimization. So the 1.5 tenths they aren't seeing is related to the "problems" the car was born with.
mb problem cost 0.5, not 1.5?
Rereading the article though, it seems that Donadoni says that the bouncing was the reason why all the gain was not shown. Duchessa said on his twitter earlier too that the team expects to have removed the bouncing for Austria, so maybe we see a 1.5 tenth gain just from that.
Sorry if I wasn't clear. I was treating Imola and Spain upgrades as a whole package, you are correct.AR3-GP wrote: ↑28 Jun 2024, 15:13I don't think that Donadoni said the Barcelona update was worth 5 tenths.
