Mercedes' Lewis Hamilton has won the British Grand Prix in front of his home crowd. In mixed weather conditions Hamilton kept out of trouble and surmounted challenges by Verstappen and his compatriot Norris who completed the podium.

Yep, thinking you can just be fighting with cars ahead of you, with Max right behind you, was a poor calculation.
Well, looked like a sitting duck as in Canada. Seems to me he prefers low starting pressure on the tire, the car was all over the place in the first lap. So may be benefiting tire life.
Tire pressures are all within tenths of each other. He tried to fight Lewis, who he doesn’t have much hope of racing with pace wise and opened a door to Max. He should have been racing rearward there and not forward for a pass that was never going to work.
They’re all trying to nurse them anticipating changing to intermediates or rains. Can’t pit now and then pit 5 laps later
