I'm surprised no one has posted this interesting news:
"a new technical director will be officially appointed after the summer break. He is in "gardening", not announced by a rival team. This is a man that Vasser relies on a lot."
It turns out Elliott is not suitable, for he is announced by Mercedes. Its Fallows? I dont like this swap of Cardile for him.
Any thoughts on who it could be?

Fallows was interviewed recently by some English science podcast a few days ago and he was at the AM factory. It didn't seem like he was in gardening, so it's probably not him

Cardile didn't replace Fallows at Aston Martin, according to official statements by AM.
Okay, but its definitely someone whos under contract. Any thoughts?
By the way very strange, but formula uno called Cardile a TD in Aston, even though that position is Fallows.

It's somebody already in gardening leave. This may be pointing to Mike Elliott, but Mike was not very happy in his TD role at Merc, I can't see him going to Italy.
Point "not announced gardering leave", Elliott already was announced, no?
ps. after failing with the zeropods, and Lewis saying that he wasnt listened to, i cant see hes approving Mike candidature.

Well thats very strange, Vasseur is relying on someone from Alpine to be willing to let Cardile go without even trying to keep him.

I don’t know why we assume it’s not Newey, he seems like (a) the obvious choice for Ferrari (b) a good reason to let Cardile go without a fight. Yes he probably doesn’t want to be full time but I still think he wants to be the final word/top dog for all things technical (he doesn’t want a Rory Byrne role) - call that a TD or a CTO (I’m sure they’d call him a Czar if that’s what Newey wants) but I think it’s quite likely he comes over to head up Ferrari’s technical team.

Donadoni:
There was a name that we were working on, as I mentioned live last week, but they denied it. As of today, to my knowledge there is no other major name, other than Serra, that should come to Ferrari. Let's see.

From an external perspective, it appears that Vasseur is "striking out" as he has failed to persuade Waché, and now it seems Newey may not join either. Additionally, the widespread discussion about his pursuit of top engineers likely did not aid in retaining Cardile.

Not a good look overall, but no way to know what's actually going on.

Has James Key landed anywhere? He was the darling of F1 during his STR days.

Donadoni has been trying in recent days to understand the situation at Ferrari with regard to the potential arrival of an important engineer. Many new engineers have arrived at Maranello under the Fred Vasseur era. He asked whether a possible arrival of Mike Elliott was conceivable at Ferrari, and got no confirmation, so it's unlikely that Mike Elliott is “Mister X”.

If it isn't Elliot, Waché or Alisson...
I think Key, Fallows and Prodomou would be a splashy names.
And maybe Tombazis is bored of his FIA job wants to go back to designing actual cars.
Maybe Lewis makes a call to Paddy Lowe?
