the fia doesnt give out prize money. teams do give out bonuses which is predetermine in the drivers contract.1 example is david coulthard gets 25k per point scored!!
At the end of the season, teams are paid by Bernie for their points finish. Just getting one point is worth something. And for a team to complete a season without scoring any points will hurt them financially.
