Interesting that the main reason for running the under bite inlet is improving loss management. I thought it would help create a large pressure differential at the front of the floor.

Video: Pat Fry talks through the FW46 upgrades

- "sensible" downforce level increase
- aero characteristic changed for improved driveability
- weight savings high up from a revised roll structure
- both cars will run the upgrades and they have spares

Sounds pretty good. The aerodynamic changes will have to prove themselves, but they will have guaranteed performance gains from the weight reduction. It's a welcome surprise to see a significant upgrade being rolled out on both Williams cars right away.

Can someone explain why the FW46 has such a chunky front wing? It’s massive compared to every other team and the 4th element is like the size of the 3rd and 4th combined of all the other cars.

Keel shape is more complex than the last time we saw it, but not novel for the grid. Also an interesting angle on the rear part of their edgewing showing how it extends under the floor
