Thats is my point. Only in Austin will we know if bouncing is fixed, so saying they will fight for podiums after Baku and Singapore just because they were competitive in Baku and Singapore isn't true. If they bounce in Austin, they will not fight for podiums after Singapore.
Why not? They got three podiums with problematic floor and had better pace than the Merc on podium in Spain and Hungary, but you can't overtake on those tracks. This covers 5 of 6 races with problematic floor, where Silverstone had to be run with slower Imola spec and they were clearly slower there
And they call it a stall. A STALL!

If you are counting Mclaren making mistakes as they have done before, then sure, Ferrari will get podiums and maybe even win again after Singapore with bouncing (if it happens) but I'm only considering theoretical/idealized performances. In that scenario, Mclaren doesn't make mistakes.

I'm not, I'm extrapolating RB and Merc performance based on their continued troubles with floor and balance. I'm taking McLaren 1-2 as granted, and other 3 teams bringing upgrades of roughly similar value.

Ferrari gathered a lot of data of latest updates on Fiorano tyre test this week, Pirelli tyre test. The hole new package was in use, very usefult for Ferrari. I belive team have much more data to work on in coming race. =D> =D>
Wasn’t it wet tire testing ?

Few laps were on dry tyres
The work revolved around developing new solutions for wet and intermediate tyres, making use of the artificial irrigation system available at the short circuit. The British driver initially completed a few laps on dry tyres before focusing on the program set by Pirelli’s engineers. In total, the British driver completed 167 laps

is that a sainz being 15-20s behind his team mate in 19 laps? and you are using that as a comparison?

1. Are comments like this even allowed on this forum? I don't feel like these kinds of "instigating" comments hold much discussion value.
2. Sainz was off-pace that weekend. If we're talking about the pace of the Ferrari compared to others, Leclerc is usually a better baseline.

It's hard to say which car was definitively faster because of the differing strategies and stint lengths during that GP, but generally, Leclerc was at least on par with Hamilton at most points and/if not faster at others. The ultimate pace difference between them was not so much overall - and over the weekend both teams were far from McLaren/Red Bull, so we're effectively doing a battle of the lessers here...

Nah, that's when Sainz and Hamilton both pitted and Hamilton made his traditional illegal move, force off track to pass. The one only he gets no penalty for

If Ferrari is working on it, one can assume the rules will remain unchanged for 2025 at the very least. Would be interesting to see how much it helps them.

Wouldn't a flexi-wing be bad for Ferrari with the bouncing issues they are currently facing at high speeds? If you lose front-end downforce at high speed, wouldn't that move the balance rearward and cause the floor to smack into the ground even more?

Or could they just load a front wing up with a ton of load and have it flex back to generate the same downforce at high speed as now, just even more of it in the low/medium speed stuff?

You can’t fault any team for going after the most successful driver the sport has ever seen, but to be honest I am not sure at this point if it will turn out great for Ferrari or not. They had a pretty balanced driver pairing and I don’t think they would even need to enforce team orders if a title fight emerged because (in my opinion) Charles is a step above Carlos and would be the one to be in front more often.

Whereas with two really competitive drivers, you run the risk of them taking points out of each-other and give up the wdc to some other consistent opponent.

But if next season is anything like this one, then it might turn out to be a little stressful.
Yeah the current driver pairing was just perfect, and Ferrari don't need LH from a marketing POV either, the F1 team is no longer the driving force for road car sales, it's a pointless and extremely costly move both financially and in terms of team dynamics. Plus honestly I think it's a bit embarrassing for Ferrari to sign someone who won all their titles with a different team, you can't brag about those championships, they are Merc/McLaren titles, same with Seb's and RB
