wait a minute - that FIA scrutineering report. Have they made mention of checking for asymmetric braking before?

They have to ever since they added that TD a while back.

Norris says Red Bull is quicker than Mclaren. Claims Red Bull simply have not maximized their results.

https://www.racefans.net/2024/09/19/red ... ar-norris/
However Norris believes some people are “dismissing Red Bull too quickly” as four teams have emerged as potential race-winners this year.

“Checo [Perez] was very quick last weekend,” he told Sky. “Maybe, if not, one of the quickest cars the whole weekend, including the race.

“So I think they’re not maximising their results even when they do have quite a quick car, which was last weekend.”
“But I don’t think anyone should dismiss Red Bull. I think they were still probably quicker than us last weekend when you look at things. It means we still have to work hard, we have to improve. But consistently we are out-scoring them and that’s why we have to accept maybe not a perfect weekend sometimes, but maximise those weekends when we can get everything right.”

He has a point, Perez was not far off all race. If Max had the car setup better, and was in Perez position, you would expect him to be a real threat.

I expect they win again by end of season. It was only a few races back Max was a pretty comfy 2nd in Netherlands. Their demise has been overplayed.

Spa would have been a walk in the park for him for him if it wasn’t for his engine penalty

Start of FP1 and some issues with Oscar car. Entire left side had to be replaced. McLaren hoping to go on track before session end with Oscar. Not the best start of the weekend for him.

Lando on track with some floviz on his rear left side of the car, best time on Mediums, p1 (1:35:522, -0.6 vs Hamilton).

Repair done for Oscar, good job from the team. His is in the track, losing only 13 minutes from the practice.

Norris driving hard on the first run of softs. Lot of sliding in corners.

Yup, everyone pushing like hell. Rain is coming this night on Singapore and seems all the data can be found today. Also Leclerc going wide, touching the walls, Alonso a big moment, Perez impeding almost everyone...best FP1 for a long time :D

I think it looks as expected. McLaren and Ferrari quite fast. I think McLaren has upper hand (or at least Lando) but hard to tell.

It looks like Mercedes is slow and 4th (or even worse). Red Bull likely 3rd but not close.

Same scenario as in Baku, but I don't really want to draw any conclusions from FP1 of a street track where you gain a lot of time every lap just from track evolution alone. There's the driver's confidence factor as well.

The delay seems to have hurt Oscar though, not a good start for him. Still, FP2 should be more representative if it doesn't rain.

Edit : Long runs kind of useless, but Lando is pretty much on the same pace with Leclerc on laps that weren't affected by traffic / overtaking.

It's a very technical track. Looks very close so it's another weekend where the drivers make the difference.

Obviously we won't really know the pace until tomorrow.

Until FP2 some info about year on year evolution:

Fastest lap by each team in FP1 at last year's #SingaporeGP vs this year (team best car considered):

1:33.350 Ferrari -------------> 1:31.763 (P1)
1:33.476 Red Bull -----------> 1:32.097 (P3)
1:33.522 McLaren ----------> 1:31.839 (P2)
1:33.540 Mercedes ---------> 1:32.679 (P8)
