It’s the soft tyre…he would have been jumped by either of them as soon as he pitted into traffic. And they had clean air.

The only reason you put on the soft tyre is if you can pull away or if you are defending for someone ( Charles last year )

and then pitted him when he didnt want to. his tires are now 21 laps older than Piastri's and 19 laps older than Leclerc who is now behind him and closing on him
