This forum contains threads to discuss teams themselves. Anything not technical about the cars, including restructuring, performances etc belongs here.
Didn't wake up because singapore like monaco are boring as hell, so watched a couple hours delayed.
Great drive from LEC, pace was there for 2nd for sure, but HUL giving DRS to ALO compromised everything. However saturday went as it did and the race was compromised. Now curious to see how the car does in a normal track like Austin.
Charles could have had P2 here with a better quali. Pace was really good on the hards.
Wasn’t he lapping basically as fast as Norris when he got clean air? I honestly think he could’ve brought the fight to him if he had started p2.
Kind of, but Lando had a lot of laps compromised by traffic, which for some reason impacted him a lot. Maybe he overtook off-line and got marbles on the tires. Also he got told to chill after having those close calls with the walls.
Very good recovery from both today. Too bad about Sainz' poor start, could have followed Leclerc's race and pace for sure without that tussle into T1-2-3
Leclerc comfortably keeping up with Norris' pace on Hards was great to see, even with overtaking many cars on his way. Should have been a P4, but Russell got saved by the bell. Proper humiliation of Mercedes, changing tyres 20-something laps to the end and still comfortably catching up to Georgey

But it was close.
Either way Leclerc was blazing fast today. His races have been really good recently. Disregarding the terrible 4 race stretch from Canada to Austria, this is his first finish outside the top 4, and his joint worst points finish all season. The levels of consistency from Leclerc this season are seriously impressive. I really think his amazing season is going abit under the radar because the Ferrari isn't as good in quali and McLaren is so blazing fast.
Useless statements. Even if he didn't make the mistake he would have qualified like p7 with those tyres.
Also the mistake was the result of having cold tyres. Leclerc quali was completely doomed.
Charles is Ferrari personified, YAAAA when win, BOOO i am Very very depressed when things go right, it something Charles has said but good to have someone like Fred to even out the emotion..

It's Leclerc... if he looked back on the session and thought he had any fault in it, he would be (and is) the first one to speak up about it. That's just how he is. Like you say, he could've qualified P7. Today that could've made a big difference with the pace they had.
And it's not like he's entirely defending the team; he reiterated he left the pits with the tires in the wrong temperature and something had gone wrong there. He's just saying he's not blameless.

Yes, but the win which was the goal would have been compromised in that case as well.
48-50 and 59-62 - fighting mercs.
Lando ofk did not attack to the maximum, but clearly not a second slower than he could drive.
It's obvious to me that we should have fought for the win, and the expectations of the drivers are not random, but unfortunately we failed in Q3.
These races would be better if there were enforced 2 stop minimum strategies and drivers were actually pushing. They’re all managing their tyres so much the race becomes a non event
Multiple drivers needed medical treatment after the race, the winner hit the wall multiple times and was dizzy on the podium...I don't think they could have pushed much more
What are your opinions on points lost in the last 2 races? What's the number?
The way I see it, Baku should have been P1+P3 and here I think it was most likely P2+P5 with proper Q3. Overall 22p lost in Baku and 12p here, so 34p overall. Should have jumped over Red Bull in WCC and made it a much closer fight with McL.
WCC P2 would be a good result and a decent reward for team personel, but I'm not sure if Sainz is interested in keeping up with his high level results. Both Baku incident and yesterday's crash were avoidable, unexpected lack of judgement from his side in both cases. (not blaming him for Baku crash, but it was avoidable, everyone knows what a hot head Checo can be)

It's a shame that Ferrari keeps losing points, but frankly I think the gap to McLaren is insurmountable and P2/P3 doesn't really matter much to Ferrari, given their infinite resources.
You're probably right about how many points should have been scored in the respective races.

I think in Baku it was possible p1 and p2 (If Charles had kept Oscar behind, then he would have killed the tyres and would have been vulnerable to attacks towards the end of the race), in Singapore, well I believe in Charles magic in quali, and probably p1 and p5 maybe p4 (Even at p2 after the quali, with these Lando tactics, we will had the option of doing the undercard for free)
