Actually, the biggest issue in 2024 is correlation between CFD and WT in "lab" conditions and track results. The philosophy of the aero concept is not detrimental any more, so those 5 min chats can't make magic happen right now. Stable performance under extreme yaw and extremely low ride heights seems to be the key and it requires perfect WT correlation, which in turn depends a lot on the WT equipment
I think you are right, but it is besides the point.

"Don't bother with inwashing sidepods or even hybrids" would have saved Ferrari 2,5 years of dead ends in the windtunnel...

Yes, you need correlation etc. To execute it well.

Don't you believe somebody involved could explain the main aero concept of a car and why it works so well to a fellow aerodynamicist over Coffee? One could at least set somebody on a bountyful development path, avoiding them the first diverging step of development.

I probably should have noted that this is the case currently. A year ago such discussions would have been very valuable. Next year it will be all about 2026 cars over such coffee breaks

24.09.28 Red Bull Formula 1 Racing Combustion in Taichung, Taiwan
On September 28, 2024, during a street demonstration by the Formula One "Red Bull Racing" team in Taiwan,
the RB8 car driven by Yuki Tsunoda experienced an engine failure (Renault) that resulted in a fire during the performance.
Fortunately, the crew members were able to pull the driver out of the car.

Max was yesterday and today at the Mugello circuit to test a Ferrari 296 GT3 car from his friend Thierry Vermeulen.
In the article is a 8 sec video from yesterday at a wet track.

Edit: Max was testing his own 3 Ferraries GT3 from his own team together with Thierry, Chris Lulham and his dad Jos.

It is not impossible to correct the correlation error, you just have to adjust the values seen on the track and fine-tune the simulator and the wind tunnel accordingly. This is a fine-tuning process that involves refining various factors, such as aerodynamic and mechanical characteristics, to bring the simulation and real data into line. Red Bull is already on the right track here, and they are starting to solve the problems.

You are right. Chris Lulham is new to the team. I think it is his car, so a new one.
Here one can read everything about the racing team. Chris Lulham isn't added yet.

Red Bull have again 4 weeks time to fix the car. In most of the seasons after the summer break there was little time.

Only good if you know what the problem is with the car and know a good development direction.

Fingers crossed

Half of the remaining six races have sprint format so thats even more possible points for Norris. Austin updates are critical

Max’s father Jos clearly blames team boss Christian Horner and his personal scandal and leadership style, but team advisor Marko admits Verstappen senior’s scathing public comments were misguided.

During this second 4 weeks (fall) stop drivers still keep training. Last weekend Max and his trainer Rupert trained in Monaco

and now he is in Portugal with his Dutch friend Mark Cox who is also a personal trainer. He showed what they did on the first day.

They are there for the wedding of Felix da Costa this week.

Perez on the other hand lets do Carola all the heavy training at La Paz (Mexico) last week (just kidding):
