Here is a nice analysis about AMR24 after Austin and their problem and obstacle reffered by Alonso, is anything we already post in the past here, the front suspension and the all front structure of car. So, to us, just we need pray for these problems will be solved with a whole new design on AMR25, maybe now, with flexible front wing " approved" by FIA, AM could return to a AMR23 concept

What as in excessive anti dive on the front

According to auto sport we are push push on front and rear suspension along with Mercedes

Red bull and mclaren are pull push

And Ferrari are push pull

Cardille did a good job regarding baseline suspension for this years ferrari. Tyre wear improved a lot compared to last. Hopefully the case for us next year

I sure hope somehow they find a breakthrough next year so Alonso can challenge for the odd podium. (how good was he in Brazil last year vs RBR for 3rd)
But having to wait till 2026 for a serious chance is torture.

Listening to Alonso's interview I get the feeling in 2026 if the car is good and he still feels he is the best driver i wouldnt be suprised if he signed on till 2028, he has waited all this time in crap cars, if he wins the title in 2026 I expect him to continue.
Also watching that interview I understand why Alonso is still so good at 43, he has the crazy drive and passion to push, studies the data, and off the track does all the physical and reaction training to keep sharp, plus he said he go karts a lot to stay sharp.

It shows what a mental game F1 is, some drivers like Ric, Vet, Web, Mika, Kimi etc are over the hill at 35

Honestly i prefere wait until they prove something, because they are talking about 2026 as if they were the best team ever and looks they already won a lot of championships. They need improve now and prove they really can aspire something more to 2026. They talk too much and show little.

This 100%. After Newey arrives, it is not realistic to expect that he is going to magically fix the flaws in the technical department in 9 months. It took Newey several years to correct the "Jaguar culture" when he arrived at Red Bull. And we don't know what to expect from the Honda unit.

Great interview, curious facts about 2023 season, 2025 season and beyond. The GOAT, in his recent F1 podcast he did :

IF they block it for copyright, it is on the F1 YouTube channel
Good interview thanks.

Looks like 2025 will be a painful year according to Alonso, Newey is %100 only working on the 2026 car.
Alonso said the top 4 teams are to far ahead for next year.

Interesting what he said about Monaco 2023, that he didnt want any updates until after Monaco because originally the cars strength was slow speed corners but upgrades canceled it, so he wanted no upgrades, he said that was the weekend of is career where he did the most study and focus of his career, but despite almost getting pole the car wasnt great.
Alonso said "Newey is %100 only working on the 2026 car" You added it's gonna be a painful year ....

If that was there problem why is braking one for their strengths ? That is where anti-dive makes the biggest difference?

I think the choice for Aston was to have very anti-dive front suspension not triggering porpoising but excessive anti-dive is a weakness as it give an inability to absorb bumps, resulting in instability when braking. IMHO, this why the car is still so difficult to drive.

Do you guys think they will have time to change it in the winter for the 2025 season ?

It will be a brand new chassis so yes. The question is, how come leadership did not forsee this being an issue when they built the AMR24?

The AMR24 still much faster as the amr23. Is just simply not enough. Is not that they going backwards, the others development much faster or just have less problems as Aston. Let's see if the new wind tunnel helps. I'm pretty sure, that Mercedes didn't tell to Aston something about the windtunnel or correlation which they figured out already. Of course is not a must thing, but that would be the fair thing to do ,but they don't want to be slower from Aston as back in 23.

They were 1:36+ at Austin last year in Quali, 1:33.3 this year. They were 1.5 seconds from Pole last year, Just under 1 second this year.

It seems the upgrade has totally 'F****' up the car balance. Total waste of a season & no hopes for next season.
Any ray of hope from last 2 races is 'Haas'; they have certainly taken a next step. I am hoping & praying for AM to repeat the same in near future.

This team is so weird. Of all the teams that didn't have any problems with their cars, they were the ones that drove the least in FP1. And with the red flags, both Stroll and Drugovich only really drove with 20 minutes left, each of them doing 5 real laps (3 on hard tires and 2 on soft tires).

We were .2 seconds off the pole in Montreal. A circuit that is very tough on brakes.
