1.22 is a last stint in race from last year although Ferrari didn’t do a low 1.22 but only a high 1.22 with SAI.

Race sims from FP2 were 1:24s.

Quali sim from fp2 was 1:19.3.

Car is 1s faster than fp2 last year.

going by his pit stop time, Sainz was likely a bit underfueled to get more laps in. But 1s of speed difference of course is a lot.

? Sainz was last one out of the big hitters and didn’t fewest laps?

Edit: sorry see what you mean now

So frustrating we didn’t have this car in the middle part of the season. Could have been a very different story this season

Yes, but it's still great that they've managed to mitigate the situation... things were looking quite dire around the Canadian GP.

Track temp during FP1 was 45c so I am looking forward to how it goes tomorrow if the track is cooler.

White helmet looks nice in a Ferrari.

One thing is clear: dirty air is going to be an absolute nightmare in this track.

Overtaking will be extremely difficult with the shortened DRS zone. Brace yourself for a super boring race.

It's almost completely irrelevant. Most of the session was on test tires and the red flag took away that little bit of time they would have had to run on mediums.

Leclerc only got around 50 minutes of running today, and half of it was useless. They weren't even allowed set up changes.

Hopefully Sainz got enough that the team can still cook tomorrow... just not the engine :S

I wasn't listening to Sainz's radio this time but Leclerc had to do a ton of LiCo. Bryan was on the radio every other lap warning him about the car overheating.

I wouldn't think it's irrelevant. Half of the tire test was done one 2024 tires to get data for comparison, so one of the longruns was more or less as normal - and unlikle usually, everyone had to put in exactly 100kg of fuel.

And we also know what tires teams had available, meaning on the short runs, both Ferrari on Mediums (old/new in whatever order) were quicker than Piastri and Norris on Softs.

here are the long run times from FP2. I assume everyone used test tires first, but can't say for certain. Cars had to be refueled before run #2, so times should be comparable.

I think the teams still had to use their test tyres for the long run.
Ferrari on C4 compared to McLaren in the C5?
Meaning Ferraris C4 was the better tyre for the race run ?

everyone had to do two long runs, one on the test tire, one on the 2024 tire. Both with similar settings and fuel loads (100kg at the start of it).

These are the tires teams had available:

In which order, I don't know, but going by deg, it looks like all supersoft-teams used those first.

Comparing telemetry of both Ferraris to both McLarens, Perez and Hamilton, looked like there's no excessive LiCo on either Ferrari. Hamilton's PU was turned up more than any other car for long runs. McLarens turned their PUs down for Q runs
And they call it a stall. A STALL!
