This forum contains threads to discuss teams themselves. Anything not technical about the cars, including restructuring, performances etc belongs here.
Max gets to decide his fate tomorrow vs Norris into T1, he couldn't have asked for more. Great job today
He's going to let him have the outside, Norris will take the bait, then there will be a nice surprise for him waiting in the braking zone. Leclerc up to P3.
Expecting Max to finish 4th tomorrow... No chance he can keep faster Ferrari and Norris behind by the end of the race.
The cheapest sort of pride is national pride, every miserable fool who has nothing at all of which he can be proud adopts, as a last resource, pride in the nation to which he belongs; thus reimbursing himself for his own inferiority.
Max is outdriving the car. People who don't like him won't accept it, neither are the commentators appreciating it in this instance, but to me, as a long term F1 watcher, it leaves me in no doubt, that the talent is one level above anyone else on the grid. I am starting to think that he can extract laptime that is close to the theoretical limit, from any car with any kind of grip balance on it. If there was any example of that ability, it was all his laps in Q1,Q2,Q3.
The difference between the Redbull and the Ferraris and McLarens was easy to see - the RB20 is nervous as if the tarmac is covered with ice, absolutely no rear grip (on a rear limited track) while the Ferrari and Mclaren looked 'nailed'. The best place to see the difference is Turn13 in the last sector and Turn5 in the middle sector - the RB20 is simply refusing to rotate, unless the car is slowed down massively. Trying to rotate it at even 1kph higher speed will mean the rear will step out and ruin the last sector. It will be terrible with full tank fuel.
I don't expect anything other than P4 from Max (might even drop to P5/P6 if the track is cold and Mercedes come to the fore; still no complaints), as the deficit in rear grip is massive to the others. The driver can manhandle the car by driving it by the scruff of the neck in Q, but it will be a completely different ballgame in the race. The pace on H tyre (C3) will be terrible, we can say it right away. If Max finishes on the podium, it will be yet another case of driver outdriving the car.

If Max could somehow extend his lead in this race, then he would be in a really strong position for the remaining 4.
Being 4th behind Lando is maybe more likely, but not a disaster either. It is fine as long until Norris doesn't win.
They were experimenting with different downforce levels during practices. Do we know if they ended up with lower or higher? What does the speed trap tell?
Just would like to know what to expect for the race.
