There appears more uncertainty, from track to track, than has existed for some considerable time.

Thinking that some may be hoping, for their favourite team/driver, but with performance so close, shifting on corner type, temperature shift in ambient etc, looks far to variable to predict with much accuracy.

Most are just guessing at this point in proceedings.

Although I agree with other people here that McLaren will be strong, I believe Ferrari will be there. Even if it is wet, I do not think we will see the kind of performance or lack of it, that we saw in Canada and Silverstone. The car is obviously much more balanced. Lets see. It is shaping up to be another exciting weekend.

Max Verstappen on the (expected) question of whether he will do something different. "I have heard that so many times in my career. This is my tenth season in Formula 1. I think I know what I am doing." #F1

Looking forward to see those penalties rain down.

5 places isn't that much and it will only affect the race, not the sprint.

With a new engine Max can easily quali 1st  #-o
and start 5th and be 3rd or thereabouts in the first corner.
And Lando could quali 2nd row like he did in Mexico.
.
You aren't good at maths are you?! Max has a 5 place gridpenalty so when he gets pole (which he can't) he has to start 6th!

That doesn't invalidate anything I said aside from the starting 6th instead of 5th.

If it rains this place might be a skating rink. Probably not Turkey 2020 but maybe 2021. Anything could happen.

Magnussen will be replaced by Bearman for today and (at least) the sprint.

No idea if Bearman was supposed to do another FP1 for Ferrari this year, but if so, this may mean that he loses his young driver status.

I think one of the Ferraris will win. If Piastri continues to struggle, Ferrari’s two-driver presence at the front will give them a strategic edge over McLaren, even if Lando Norris has a slightly faster car. With two competitive drivers, Ferrari can split strategies, control race pace, and apply undercut pressure on Norris, forcing him to react and compromising his optimal race strategy. In safety car scenarios, Ferrari will also have more flexibility to adapt pit stops effectively.

Peter Bayer from RB just said that the track is much worse than expected. There are bumps in every single corner, and on the straight it's so bad that the drivers can barely see.

According to him, everyone will need to increase ride height to avoid dsq.
