Where did McLaren perform poorly? The race was red flagged because cappuchino crashed. Up to the red flag everithing was the right call.SilviuAgo wrote: ↑03 Nov 2024, 18:47C'mon...I don't like max but he was excellent this race. From P17 to P10 in 1 lap, passing Piastri like nothing, beeing P5 before mid race....Poor performance from McLaren this race. A race to forget!Darth-Piekus wrote: ↑03 Nov 2024, 18:43Personally I am against the rule of changing a tyre during a red flag. It is against fair competition. Piastri screwed it completely. Good thing is that we still gain more points than Ferrari. Bad thing is that Max got promoted by an unfair rule to P2.
Yes, stopping was a fine decision. But VSC ended just as they were pitting so they effectively had a green flag pitstop and ended up behind GAS/VER/OCO. Then they looked great, safety car was great but obviously red flag was not.Ben1980 wrote: ↑03 Nov 2024, 18:48Not sure stopping was that bad a decision at the time, just in hindsight.
The safety car, helped them and the rain was decreasing.
You can't assume Colapinto bins it behind the safety car.
And Landos start, not sure it was bad, maybe safe, but in those conditions that's understandable.
Yeah. It was going to require hell of a lot of luck to beat Verstappen. The way he drove today he deserves to be WDC. Congratulations to him.
Bloody hell, what is this race...FittingMechanics wrote: ↑03 Nov 2024, 18:56Btw it looks like it can be worse, both Mercedes noted for changing tire pressure on the grid. Possible DSQ for them.
He has got lucky, Lando got lucky in Miami. But, his car has been best out there.Darth-Piekus wrote: ↑03 Nov 2024, 18:56I don't disagree that Max drove brilliantly but he would not be able to catch the first two without a lucky incident.
