I was expecting things to go badly this race to be honest. Just the recent precedents of wet races do not favor McLaren, but didn't expect it to go this badly. Huge flop all-around.

Forget the WDC, but not taking more points out of Ferrari here is laughable to be honest. Two Alpines on the podium and they are fighting each-other at 6th and 7th :lol"

But he still likely wins without the red flag.

Man Lando, so many mistakes, no real pace, he has a good race craft, so I believe something is wrong with the setup or characteristics of the car.

Maybe going for higher downforce was not the best call. The car is fast in the twisty bits but can't catch in any of the straights.

Still, it was a nice dream to think of WDC.

Lando is not championship material

It's a mad race in lots of rain.

A race he would likely have won without a red flag.

But Max is almost on rails. Lando just has driven poorly in these conditions.

After Piastri mistake where he dropped 4 seconds back he is now about 1 second faster than Norris. I think the car has plenty of pace but can't overtake due to high drag due to the wing.

I think it should be clear they went too hard on downforce, there's pace to get close to cars, but no speed to overtake.

Neither driver stood out? I cannot understand how anyone can't recognise the mastery of Maxs display and the absolute gap in class between the two drivers, it's that big here today

I don't disagree that Max drove masterfully today but still he would not be able to win without that Red Flag.

Totally agree, he doesn't have the racecraft and is a terrible starter. When you're this bad at converting poles to wins, you're not made of the right stuff ...

Not necessarily. Leclerc doesn’t have a good pole conversion rate, but his cars have mostly been utter garbage in terms of race pace and tyre deg. Still I doubt anyone would consider him ”not championship material”.

I agree about Lando though. He clearly lacks the racecraft, even if he has admittedly been really unlucky in Sao Paulo.

Piastri hasn't had a great race, but it's been better than Lando for sure, which is why Oscar gained a place and Lando lost 5, plus any penalty at the end.

Don't say that too soon, Piastri hasn't served his 10 second penalty yet, he could very well end up outside of the points if Lawson can close the gap to Tsunoda.
