Found that fastest lap by Max. Crazy how smooth he is on the throttle, and having no wheel spin or correction. He breaks quite early, uses good-front end grip to turn in the corner. It could also be, that car which had understeer for the entire year could be an advantage in the rain .
I somewhat agree with the less then perfect score. The race was an absolute masterclass, but mistakes were made in the qualy and sprint race. Anyway it shows how useless these scores are.
Not that I care a bit about autosport scores (after yesterday's race we Max supporters have a lot more to enjoy than a score in autosport), but just to add a bit of a context: they rated 10 Leclerc for a non-race in Monaco and Sainz for inheriting a win from a Red Bull mechanic who forgot how to assemble a brake
for yesterday they gave 9 to a bunch of drivers, not sure they all did what Max showed but anyway, it doesn't change the greatness of the performance we witnessed
Max Verstappen – 9
Esteban Ocon – 9
Pierre Gasly – 9
George Russell – 9
Charles Leclerc – 9

Standard weekend in the fastest car with little to no competition, 10. Generational wet drive from the back of the grid under maximum championship pressure, 9. Kind of a useless rating system if it doesn't acknowledge those special drives we will remember for decades but rather just focuses on zero complication races we all forget after a few years.
He was too slow and so did not make it through. Whenever the red flag was thrown, Max was never making it through as he was already in the drop zone and there was not enough time left to have been able to do an out lap before the end of the session.
If I come across as blunt, I apologise, it's my ASD. Sometimes, like an F1 car aqua-planing, it gets out of my control.
