Privileged is perhaps the wrong way to use for Charles, but he is definitely luckier than most people living in the world. Personal tragedies aside (which in itself aren't really as rare as you would think sadly), he has had all the opportunities and means to follow a path in life which has led him to this point right now.
Is he skilled/talented and deserves where he is in life right now? Absolutely.
But it's not unreasonable to think that out there they might be someone who given the same opportunities and means, would eventually become the best driver the sport has ever seen.
Not everyone is lucky enough to be able to afford to follow a career in motorsports though.
Of course, he is very lucky in general. There are lots of amazing drivers who never make it past the karting level because of funding, particularly ones who aren't European.
But it's silly to boil down his opportunities to "just" him being rich. He receives these opportunities because he's an excellent driver and therefore very popular and a huge marketing asset. The Hamilton/Leclerc pairing is going to have crazy revenue potential...
Anyway, I didn't mean to personally attack anyone. The tone of their original response bothered me, but I digress. It seems like the teams have been very tight-lipped this break, even about next year's cars. I'm choosing to believe this is a positive sign that everything is going well
