Car literally parks in front of the opening and they still need 5+ minutes with a red flag to clear it.
There has to be a better way.
Until hybrid system shuts down safely (indicated by the lights on the T-cam) no one is allowed to touch the car. Stroll left in a hurry and probably didn't have the time to shut everything down himself
And they call it a stall. A STALL!

looks like Mercedes still has the upper hand, so far. Early in Q2 Russell topped the board on 10 lap old tires.

Here's what's left for Q3:

Rookie error from Colopinto. Those Williams mechanics must be well seasoned in car rebuilds this season. Shocked they have any parts left
Mess with the Bull - you get the horns.

Barring race incidents and strategy blunders, with the starting grid this could easily be a Ferrari 1-2...

Interesting grid. Great lap from Russell, and good effort from Verstappen to put himself ahead of the McLaren's with that hatchet job rear wing.

But where did Gasly come from? That is some impressive effort

Pretty impressive quali to be fair.

Gasly coming from absolutely nowhere and splitting the Ferrari’s.

Coukd be a big points turn in the WCC with Ferrari and McLaren - given the mclarens are well down the order this weekend.

could be a interesting race tomorrow

Mclaren missing their mini-DRS, would come in handy here.
Mercedes would be strong in a "winter series", top job from Russell and Hamilton... maybe he is at the end of his shelf life.
Ferrari with a big opportunity.
Is the Renault engine really that bad? Amazing job by Gasly.

Thank you very much for another one, Logan Hamilton! :P

Brilliant performance from Pierre, on the other side :!: Also from Sainz, to be that much quicker than Leclerc , on a street track. Albon will be slaughtered next year.

Absolutely you don't go from winning Baku to qualifying 6th and 8th if the Mini DRS didn't provide any benefits.

Just a few races ago they were dominant everywhere. Now, several cars are outperforming them. Seems very strange, just like how Red Bull's dominance ended so abruptly, this year.

To be completely honest, it all seems very fishy to me

I don't think we must read too much into Quali, it's a function of tyre warm up, when track temp is so low and there are long straights with winter temp air.

In the race, once tyre temps and the battery average-SoC have settled into an equilibrium, normal pecking order would be restored, I expect - the Mercs (atleast one) and Ferraris and McLarens would form a 'cluster pack' in the front and it would a 'gap' to P6/P7 positions where Verstappen would settle down to, and be fighting with Gasly. Russel or one of the Ferraris look to be the potential winner.

The way he is driving it, I wouldn't bet that he would be able to get it with S on the penultimate lap, someone in the lead pack would've done it with H tyres some 3-4 laps previously.
