The car looks fast in Q1, whenever they made their laps they had 2-3 tenths on the field but would get overtaken with track evolution.

Hopefully we get good Q3 result compared to Ferrari.

Q2 doesn't look that great. It looks like NOR gave tow to PIA but it was only for P4 (small margins though).

i dont really get that - first q2 time was competitive on used softs, then they both seemed to have bad laps with the new

First lap was on scrubbed tires from Q1 (they put on new set at the end but abandoned laps after S1). So relatively new tires.

Q2 was a busy track and I suspect a couple of Sub Optimal laps.

Anyone from the top 4 constructors can take pole but Merc look quickest so far.

Did we get our best laps in too early? TV isn't showing me the Mclaren laps unfortunately. I've no idea where the pace went in Q2.

Actually, we were fuelled for 2 fast laps, without that Norris would have been higher up. Not sure how others were fuelled.

McLaren hasn't topped any session so far until Q2.
So while opening this thread and coming into it, half expected to see a flurry of doom-n-gloom messages from DarthPiekus. Looks like he is on holiday. :D

Certainly in Q2 they did. Piastri doing 1 lap towards the end, Norris fueled for 2 and going a little earlier but the crash put that to bed.

Something happened in Piastris S1, at least, I think. Feels like a mistake somewhere.

Wind has picked up, so sky say. This could change things.

Both cars had bad S1.

Norris was fueled for more laps but he didn't really have time to do a second run. He did however tow Piastri.

Obviously they think this is faster. I don't think we on the forum know better.

They seem to be doing two warm up laps now for their last run.
