Wonder if the Baku rear wing would have helped...

Gasly in third stands out, but, Ferrari were always going to be quick, and Mercedes have looked fast since the start.

Not really a surprise result though.

Thanks.

Personally I don't see any reason that they won't be fast in Q, yet.
you dont think RBR saying they have brought the wrong wing to the race is evidence that something is wrong?

Not the quali we wanted but could have been worse. With McLaren in P6 and P8 and Ferrari P1 and P2. The points are given tomorrow and, if we are looking at Brasil, I prefer a P6 start and to fight for win and podium vs to start from.pole and to finish P6.
Strange quali anyway with Mercedes P1 and P10, with Gasly P3, woth Tsunoda faster than Oscar. Let's wait for tomorrow and if we are here on damagae limitation let it be. Qatar and Abu Dhabi should be better and still McLaren has the first chance for the championship.

well, Verstappen wasn't any quick, really. Problem is that McLaren was even worse today.

Every point true. And we can probably add - when Max blows up about the car being "undrivable". Oscar was looking marginally the quicker of our guys but he struggled on his final run, barely quicker than his time on used tyres.

He wasn't slow and he was quicker than us

Anyway, point is, nonsense spouted after FP2 is exactly that. Nonsense

Red Bull gets downplayed so much, people do treat it like a Sauber. The Red Bull is still quick, and always going to be. He even had a yellow sector 2 on his last lap.

It was yellow because he matched his previous lap and was a hair slower, not that he made a mistake.
The cheapest sort of pride is national pride, every miserable fool who has nothing at all of which he can be proud adopts, as a last resource, pride in the nation to which he belongs; thus reimbursing himself for his own inferiority.

Take my word, both McLarens are going to easy DRS pass Verstappen tomorrow, the Redbull's real weakness isn't exposed in those Q runs. The RB20 is eating rear tyres, and McLaren have a huge tyre advantage and can maintain long run pace for really long.

well, he wasn't much quicker than the Haas or VCARB, and finished behind an Alpine. Verstappen wasn't any fast. Not yesterday, and today neither. It's McLaren who went backwards.

But well, I guess they had to make some changes after the massive graining in FP2. Although I didn't expect them to suffer this much from it.

But, when everyone else was improving on sectors, being slower must be classed as an error somewhere. The track had improved.

Depends they can get any water in the tyre.

I'd be surprised if the Mclarens get passed the Red Bull at all.

I'd be surprised if Max doesn't shunt Lando on lap 1 to be honest.
