Well i like what i see
The only thing that is alarming is that they used the hard and the others the medium, the hard looks much better in terms of saving it for the race.
ps.

Is Leclerc going to end up racing the new floor or will he revert to the previous spec? It looks like a pretty significant step forward, but FP isn't exactly representative of course.

don't corlos has contract that says they need to be treated equal with equal parts? maybe that's preventing from giving the update only to Charles

There is no way they would use it in the only practice session if it was not planned to be carried forward to the sprint at least

Leclerc will use the floor. Makes 0 sense to try it and not use it in FP1 on a sprint weekend.

I don't think the floor itself gave a huge performance boost. But it gave a confidence boost which is essential, maybe even more important than pure pace.

The AR article said Leclerc using the floor or not is up to him, so we'll see.

- it is also evident from the gap line how the PU level is very similar between #Ferrari and #McLaren , but how much #Leclerc comes out from T6 onwards, including a sensational advantage in the fast triple of S3. On the one hand it is definitely probable that McLaren has more than Ferrari in its pocket, on the other hand some of the red's weak points do not seem so weak after all
- The indicators also seem to point to a higher aero load for the #SF24 . Perhaps the experimental bottom works better than expected. However, these are indicators to be taken with a pinch of salt in free testing.
- Looking at the short step sim, you notice #Piastri very fast. #Mercedes both similar and with an excellent performance, #Verstappen has a perfect progression but with much higher times than the competition (tried with a full tank?).
- Ferrari has done very little race sim, but it seems to be part of an aggressive strategy with a view to working on the single lap to maximise the sprint and then using the sprint itself as further confirmation of some choices in the long runs, also considering that the impression is that this weekend the Maranello team has an excellent correlation.
We see

The Ferrari seems very driveable to begin with anyway. I don’t think that is it.

From what I’ve read on this forum over the season, Ferrari is slightly behind Red Bull and McLaren in terms of downforce.

Surely this upgrade is targeting mostly aerodynamic load?

The reason I said this is because after Mexico and Vegas qualifying, Leclerc said he hasn't been comfortable in the car recently. But today he looked like he was completely dialed in. Very confident even when he made mistakes.

Hopefully the temperature drop doesn't change too much for Ferrari.

Could be the case where they didn't add a ton of actual downforce, but the window for usable downforce opened allowing for more performance. Sainz alluded to this with the Monza update as well - this may be the philosophy going forward

Are they still mandating a three stop race this year? Probably why they stuck with the hards. They could have two fresh M for the race.
