Did the tyre compound construction change from 2023 to 2024?

Been following the chat about Hamilton's struggles since the whole ground effect thing started in 2022, especially in qualifying. His late braking was always his stranght, but these ground effect cars rely a lot on airflow underneath to keep them planted, so when you brake hard and late like Hamilton does, it messes with that balance. Basically, it throws off the aerodynamics and you lose grip, which means slower exits and worse cornering. In yesterday's radio exchange, Bono even said Hamilton was "braking later and harder," and it was costing him some speed. That’s what happens when you mess with the aero on these new cars. One fix could be for Mercedes to tweak the car’s setup to better suit his style and get him back to that feel he's used to. But, could Mercedes be holding back on optimizing his car? I'm pretty confident they’re more focused on making sure it works better for Russell considering the circumstances.
Of course I struggle. I just don’t quit.

It could also be a tire thing too. These tires are so finicky, that you have to baby them during the fast lap. His style puts a lot of strain on these “tires” and maybe they just give up half way thru the lap. Allison alluded to this on one of the debriefs. Perhaps this was not an issue last year because the W14 didn’t generate the amount of load that the W15 generates. This is just me speculating.

Nightmare night for Merc. Russell going backwards, and Hamilton just slow, with a penalty.

My opinion is that Russell's car is set up differently from Hamilton's, likely with a lower ride height allowing it to stay more planted in the corners. Hamilton even complained about this twice on the radio while driving behind him.

Extremely disappointing and unprofessional behavior from Lewis in this race. Toto should seriously consider putting Kimi in the car for the final race of the season.

Lewis is allowed to be upset, its not like hes flinging insults over the radio, if Toto had a problem with it he'd come over the radio and say something, sacking lewis for his final race because hes upset in the moment is just silly

He will race in AD. They are doing a tribute livery for him with his fans names on it.

Since the summer break.

No chance you go from multiple podiums mid season, a Silverstone masterclass, and the Spa win, to looking like an absolute donkey, who seems to be embarrassing himself every week.

It’s as clear as day.

Why didn’t Merc put Russell on mediums for the last stop? Did he not have any tires left?
