For a monent let's forget the severity of the penalty and why it was given 15 laps later. What Norris is supposed to follow? The marshals or the green flashing panel right after them?

the penalty was justified I suppose, but holy ---, it took them very long to "investigate" it and the severity is completely out of proportion, insane to give 10s stop/go for that

Well, if they lose constructors championship, they have only themselves to blame, this was beyond dumb. Don t have any words. Reminds me of 2007 and China blunder with Hamilton. But it is what it is. Shame for 1000

Yeah. The board goes yellow just as he passes it, so he won't see it. Flags are not that visible at night with a bright green board after.

Finally, by applying a stop go penalty and not adding time, the stewards prevented any kind of meaningful appeal, which is the other serious consequence.

It wasn't fixed. It's a slam dunk penalty, but just seems very harsh. But, the issue is why it took so long.

When you say it out loud then the penalty does make sense.. "...for driving at 200mph through a double waved yellow flag zone" and I'd be totally in favour of it....

...it's just that still I'm not sure what Norris should've done given what he saw, and that's after carefully looking at it for 10 minutes.

My personal opinion knowing Liberty Media is that it was fixed to cause a last race drama. Aparently crashing to someone else and destroying his race counts for less than a 0.6 sec situation that wasn't even sure what happened.

He might have caught the moment of a flickering marker, since he was infront. As far as i saw on the left though, it went on when Norris was beside. I bet Mclaren will take a good look at the video footage and if they see that board malfunctioned in that time, the race itself can get deleted.

The only reason I see for the delay in the penalty for Lando is to equalize the damage to Sainz for not bringing out the VSC earlier. In any case, if we lose the WCC, the only ones responsible will be us, above all, the drivers.
