He actually did a fantastic start, then held his lead in 3 SC restarts and didn't make a single error. Norris had multiple off-track excursions just for comparison. Norris might have won it without the yellow flag thing.
This feels more like the car in Spain, Austria, Imola. Back to ~Miami level performance. Last stint McLaren still seems quicker I suppose. But anyways, if the team got the direction back it's great.
Perez had a Bahrain 2022 moment with the car. No drive and spun.PierreW wrote: ↑01 Dec 2024, 19:56Delighted by this win, as Max was able to perform very well during a clean race. He was the fastest in medium with Lando and even started to slightly open up the gap before stopping under de Safety Car. The car was not destroying the tyres and even in the hard at then end it was positive.
I think that he would have been able to fend off Lando as the british driver seemed to have let pass his best chance to overtake right after he got the DRS. But we would never know for sure. Max was very fast today.
The way he took the lead at the start after being unfairly punished and robbed of his magnifiscent pole position was very impressive. He was the boss today. The team will be very happy to celebrate another victory.
Did Perez crash because of a mistake or did he suffer a mechanical failure that explains the spin?
I changed my mind after rewatching itorganic wrote: ↑01 Dec 2024, 19:03Fair enough. Max is being told by GP that they're talking about the yellow flag ATM so it's not been dismissed as nothing but like you say might be nothing in it
