60's F1 Replicas

Post

Hi everyone, probably the wrong place to be posting this, oh well.

I'm planning on making a car styled on F1 cars from 67. It's easy to find/make pretty much everything but the tyres and wheels. There are still people racing these cars, so where do they get the tyres?

Does anyone know of any companies that make or sell tyres and wheels as large as an F1 car?

Major tyre manufacturers like Michelin or Dunlop have sections within the companies that produce only historic tyres. You can buy new tyres for car from 1904 as well as some from 1982. Just go to Michelin or other tyre manuf. web site and contact them.

There is alot of useful info on here and a collection of links at the bottom of the page to various tyre suppliers. Hope it helps.

Hello Spook.

If you pay atention to the Thoroughbred Chpampionship (As many readers know, this is an actual championship in which historic F1 cars are raced today) you will see that all the cars use AVON tyres. So, please contact AVON and let us know the answer.
