Hello
Any chance to make the monocoque as thin as the engine block? On the lower side only.

FYI: The newest version of the technical regulations was released on December 11th. I think there are some minor changes compared to the one Matteo shared.
The shared model are referred to the november release fo F1 FIA rules: I could not find the PDF of decemeber update. Can you help me find the link on FIA website?
Here you go: https://www.fia.com/regulation/category/110
Under technical regulations. Turns out I was wrong approved December 11th. Published on the 12th.
Of course we cannot keep changing the regulations each month (like the FIA).

I havent gone through all of it, but slightly different "LED"s, more generous diffuser sidewall (in a new RV), etc.

Apart from that, maybe updating bluecfd released to the 2024 build that uses OF12 if the change has any gains to us.
Yes, switching to a new OF version is a must. OF now can run on windows using this Linux stuff but also in Docker. Not sure if blueCFD is still the way to go. I will find out though.
I have been using "this Linux stuff" called WSL to run OpenFOAM on windows. Works quite well.

The following first proposal is a R00 version: some details are missing, both because the final FIA F1 2026 rules are not yet fully defined, and because some volumes (e.g. front wing) will be simplified, as was the case for the MVRC 2024 regulations. The reason for releasing this preliminary draft is to involve the teams in the open source development and discussion of the geometry, without anyone being able to take advantage of it.
Having had a look at the boxes in a bit more detail I think it will be a really good addition to make use of 'RV-BW-APERTURE' to regulate cooling outlets in the bodywork.

The only other thing I noticed for now is that the mandatory airbox is protruding out of the top of the engine cover regulation box

In a few days a new release with all the suggeted updates will be ready (including the new safety cell with the thinner monocoque).

I have some doubts about the fool inlets fences box. @Koldskaal, may I ask you to show that area from a different perspective?

Hi everyone, here is the CAD model of the R01 ruled volumes I've included the following changes and suggestions received: - Update to the latest release of the FIA rules (new diffuser, new front and rear wings)
  • Correct airscope shape that came out of the allowed volume
  • Reduced size of the safety cell in the lower area
  • Correct orientation
I am waiting for suggestions and for a check on case of any other bugs

To prevent the model from diffusing outside the MVRC context, the link will be valid for 5 days.

Thanks for the effort CAEd, I think the only other thing at the moment for me is the gearbox casing being quite so blocky in shape transition, but even as is I'm sure it's workable, it just makes an already small diffuser area even more compromised

Hi, changing the gearbox is easy, can you show where do you thing it is too large?

More about smoothing these transitions than size, per say

ok, no problem. I have modeled the gearbox around the model of a real differential (not F1, but suitable for LMPx), maybe you are right and F1 differenzial are more compact. You will find it in the next release.

Hi. Thanks you all for the efforts in keeping the new championship on track.

3 observations from my side:

1: missing volume:

2: I think the orientation is still wrong: (the green one i believe is the correct one)

3: tight gap between mandatory part and volume:

Yes, my fault: I found the problem but I made a mistake exporting from SWX

PS: Is that the first draft of a 2026 car?

By the way, i didn't forget about the 2024 awards, but it seems like there's a little issue with the graphics on the new shirts, which i think will be fixed soon.
