I really dislike this livery, but if its fast it doesn’t matter I guess.

At least put some more orange in it jesus. It’s 90% black.

I think the livery is ok. An evolution of last year. Now let's see what the MCL39 can do on track. We are defending champions and we have to lead from the start. Onwards to win Melbourne and the tradition that says that whoever takes Melbourne takes the championship.

EXTREMELY disappointed. Honestly this is BS and I think very disrespectful to the fans. RBR and McLaren the only 2 teams to not change their livery. Esp after going through all the drama of that camo test livery. Car better be rapid because this sucks

So officially what we saw at the Silverstone test was the MCL39. So opinions.
Oh they're hidden in a special 'select' member's only thread, but, if you promise not to tell anyone, and even more importantly, promise not to post anything, because people will know I told you, I'll share the link with you.

Stella on the livery:

Team principal Andrea Stella said the MCL39 is "an innovative car from a technical point of view, but in terms of livery, we wanted to stay in continuity with last year's car to honour our champion car."
Just a fan's point of view

So obvious that they came up with that crap line after watching everyone else's new liveries during the show

Looks like they had to fire their designers to pay the technical team the big $

It's exactly the same livery and I wasn't a fan of the livery last year either. Not really happy about it, but oh well. Really wished they would put some more paint in it.

Given the number of sponsors/partners McLaren have listed on their website surprised only Webex, FxPro and DeWalt made it onto the nose……a lot of blank space their oddly

When i saw the burger sponsorship which was themed mainly black with some orange, it was fairly clear what they were going to do.

I'm not a fan, but papaya is the brand. I wish they'd at least do something to liven it up.

They want papaya to be the brand but the livery doesn’t reflect that.

If you want Papaya to be the team’s identity like red is for Ferrari, you don’t half a** it by using black everywhere. That’s what pisses me off. In any other angle but the front, the car has no paint. It’s just bare carbon fiber with some orange splattered around.

I don't even mind the black, I just wish they'd make it less professional and sensible.

Id love it if they moved towards street art style paint jobs. Make it pop a bit.

It just has no style. It's like Brad Pitt turning up in his Dad's old suit.

I'll wait for the special liveries. 4 per year at Japan, Monaco, Vegas and I can't remember the other

Are McLaren fans the hardest fans to please??? The car's great, still one of the best liveries, anyway it's subjective. Does it stand out on TV? Absolutely!

I'm more interested in the visible changes, and without the camo livery it is blindingly obvious the sided profile and engine cover/intake/halo/mirror profiles look like they should yield plenty of gain, maybe half a second plus room for further gains as the season moves forward. I think they have looked the most developed car from 2024 but maybe that's just one-eyed McLaren fan bias. Go McLaren!
