I'm more interested in the visible changes, and without the camo livery it is blindingly obvious the sided profile and engine cover/intake/halo/mirror profiles look like they should yield plenty of gain, maybe half a second plus room for further gains as the season moves forward. I think they have looked the most developed car from 2024 but maybe that's just one-eyed McLaren fan bias. Go McLaren!
Not sure if this is sarcastic but they showed the MCL38 today

Well, I might be in the minority, but I like that they kept some stability to the livery. It's how things used to be, only minor changes each year.

Look at the iconic Malboro years, or Vodafone years, the livery barely changed. Yes, those were, in most people's opinions, better liveries, but that is a purely subjective thing.

Would I have liked to see some chrome back on the car? Absolutely.

But I personally didn't like the lack of livery continuity we had in recent years. So this is a thumbs up from me.

(Even if I do wish they'd go back to the 2019 livery lol)

The livery has always been decisive.

Are they still weight saving?

You would think so wouldn’t you.
It looks like the other teams aren’t and have gone for a full paint job, however in this current heavy formula surely all teams would want to save weight on paint?
Allowing them to optimise further the cars ballast even if it’s only a few extra grams in the nose cone for example. Like Nico Rosberg proved it can potentially give you that half a tenth to grab pole position

Maybe this is just their look, seems more and more like a choice, but it could still be weight saving.

Also I meant devisive, not decisive lol

EXTREMELY disappointed. Honestly this is BS and I think very disrespectful to the fans. RBR and McLaren the only 2 teams to not change their livery. Esp after going through all the drama of that camo test livery. Car better be rapid because this sucks
Really? Mercedes and Aston are basically the same, Ferrari splashed a little bit of white where HP logos are.

Remember Mclaren in 80s/90s? Red and white without any proper change year after year and nobody got upset for it.

Mclaren finally came to the position again, where they dont need to desperately seek for atention with their liveries. They are providing race results instead. Car looks good enough.
If i would get the money to start my own F1 team, i would revive Arrows

Yeah, the car looks good. I just wish the chrome special livery was the default one.

McLaren historically never change a championship winning livery, it's a tradition. I hope it's on the car for the next few years!

can we all agree that the colour of the livery is irrelevant...even if the car was baby diarhea brown we would still love the car if it will win races

Makes sense to keep the same livery, it’s what they used to do and really redesigning is just a waste of time/resources.

Aston, Mercedes, Ferrari and Mclaren not changing too much ==> This means they are a real established brand.
You do not change your style everytime when you have a good brand.

And actually all of those cars look good I think.

Zak reckons Mclaren are currently the most commercially successful team EVER to race in formula one!

I wonder there is no sweat about not having a ‘title’ sponsor.
