Red Bull RB21

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

Just upon initial inspection, the engine cover looks tighter, the G-Line in the undercut is somewhat different. I'll grab some side by sides and do a proper analysis.

**I've been told that what we see this week for testing is the test spec. Race 1 updates are coming so the car could look a little different for the first race.**

Pierre Wache's comments suggest that Red Bull's primary focus for the RB21 is on developments beneath the surface, particularly in areas like the floor, which is crucial for ground effect performance. The visible changes to the sidepods and engine cover are expected to be subtle, almost unnoticeable, reinforcing the idea that most of the upgrades will be in less obvious but highly influential aerodynamic areas.

This aligns with Red Bull's philosophy of continuous refinement rather than dramatic visual overhauls, especially as other teams have caught up with their initial design concepts. The key performance gains will likely come from optimizing airflow management and underfloor aerodynamics.

IF that is the real RB21, I can't spot a single point of difference except the beam wing. Not anywhere, including the floor. I feel like we are being played.

Floor edge is slightly different, sidepod undercut as well. Other then that....

Does it look like the pushrod on the rear suspension is under a slightly different angle?

Maybe one of the arms in the rear suspension is somewhat different?

Very weird by RedBull. RB20 had so many issues last year, it's hard to believe this is it. There's barely any tangible difference. One would expect some more visible changes. Upgrade package incoming for the last day of testing or R1? #-o

Would not surprise me in the slightest that they have handled internals/suspension change, and are holding back on surface developments until they check their correlations. So this could well be a RB-21 with a RB-20 skin suit.

The fin on the back of the halo is different too.

Maybe they focussed on mechanics and wings. Got the kerbriding thing fixed.
Slap on a few flexiwings rulebenders in race 1, get a 150 point lead till the clampdown, call it a season and move on to 2026.

Makes sense, but I can't see any difference in the suspension, the geometry looks identical.

Huh, so those initial photos were actually the RB21. lol

maybe they spent all money on flexiwing, hence Horner gutted for the clampdown

there's a little change in one arm of rear suspension (good spot by Emag), but yeah, not very much....also, wasn't the front suspension to be critical last year ? guess we will have to wait and see

I don't see any difference. It's just camera angle. The car we've been shown is identical to the RB20 visually.
