There is no bad or good in testing. It is not about setting fast times. They have a scheduled list of things to test and they follow it. It is normal to have long pits as they test different set-ups and normal that some set-up are more or less effective than others.Sherrinford wrote: ↑26 Feb 2025, 13:06Bad day so far, few laps, a lot of time wasted to fix the set-up, apparently it seems like it continues to eat the tyres. The positive thing for me was the handling. But keeping the front push rod, when McLaren also made a big change to the suspension, makes me perplexed.
The team did absolutely no long run, their approach was fast-slow-fast followed by 3-4 "race laps". Don't know how you make such a conclusion after this session (about eating the tyres), even it is actually the case (or not).Sherrinford wrote: ↑26 Feb 2025, 13:06Bad day so far, few laps, a lot of time wasted to fix the set-up, apparently it seems like it continues to eat the tyres. On Alonso's final stint, the drop off was stark on the "race laps", although he already did some fast laps on the tyres, so kind of unfair to compare to Antonelli or anyone else doing similar lap times on the "race laps".-wkst- wrote: ↑26 Feb 2025, 13:36The team did absolutely no long run, their approach was fast-slow-fast followed by 3-4 "race laps".
