I think his first stint seemed okay. Maybe McLaren still has a larger advantage as fuel wears off?Cs98 wrote: ↑27 Feb 2025, 19:05Liam didn't look great today tbh. The race stints are hard to read because they didn't do them consecutively and probably refueled. With the quali sim he couldn't really nail the first or second sector. Maybe fuel related, but also looked like they were doing a lot of set-up work between runs.
Idk, I have to see Max. What he showed yesterday was promising and Liam has certainly not come close to that so he can't be used as a benchmark for the car.f1isgood wrote: ↑27 Feb 2025, 19:36I think his first stint seemed okay. Fair point, I agree. My hunch is Red Bull will be close to give trouble to Macca but not outright faster, so let's see.Cs98 wrote: ↑27 Feb 2025, 19:39Idk, I have to see Max. I am a bit more positive. The stints looked consistent, low deg, and if indeed high fuel with some refueling relatively ok in terms of pace.f1isgood wrote: ↑27 Feb 2025, 19:41Fair point, I agree. My hunch is Red Bull will be close to give trouble to Macca but not outright faster, so let's see.
Avg race pace gap between Perez vs Verstappen in 2022 - 0.300 (Great deg)Cs98 wrote: ↑27 Feb 2025, 19:39Idk, I have to see Max. If F1-Tempo is accurate, Lawson didn't go inside. There's very little time between the two stints.

The characteristics of our car are more or less what we thought it could have and the drivers are quite happy. That's positive. In terms of speed, we don't know how we compare to the others."
In previous years only Perez did the full race simulations. In 23 and 24 red bull ran to a delta with max and if max did 3 stints then thered be refuellingf1isgood wrote: ↑28 Feb 2025, 00:11Wache says they have reduced the potential on this car compared to RB21. RB20 must have look real good in the simulations lol. Fell into a W13 trap the more I hear.
Anyways, indeed we will find out tomorrow where we stand. Today was weird. Hope Max can put out a clearer picture and do a good race sim.
Red Bull technical director Pierre Wacher says the team has brought forward some of the updates it had originally planned for Australia.
I'll follow up and try to find out what's going on.
