So much pessimism, guys, have a little faith. The team did their tests and according to their own word's the are happy..
I personally only after 2-3 races i will reach to a conclusion about this year's car.
Except Max, we have the 2 best drivers in the grid.

Fun fact: having 'good vibes' about your favorite team does not improve their performance.

I'm neither a pessimist, nor an optimist. Just a realist. And reality is suggesting extremely strongly that we're quite clearly behind Mclaren by a decent chunk, and this has pretty dire implications on any championship hopes.

It's not gonna stop me hoping, but I dont work on faith. And this isn't the sort of season we can spend half of it working things out, either. Mclaren are gonna be extremely strong from Day 1 this time around. And with more confidence and no having to chase, will likely come less mistakes. All while we still need to prioritize 2026.

That said, if Ferrari haven't figured things out for this year, it doesn't make me feel good about whatever they're doing next year, either.

Not really.
Since when has Hamilton ever been good at making a slow car fast? He is good at making fast cars faster but not slow cars faster. If Ferrari deliver a car that isn't fast, he's not your man. Plus with CS, he would have taken seat #2 to put more force into Charles. Lewis will never do that until it's far too late in points.

Do you mean Lewis doesn't perform well in a worse car? Because that's obviously easily refutable as he's notoriously been a driver who can maximize whatever machinery he has in a given situation. Granted, he hasn't driven many terrible cars, but somebody who is known as a top wet weather driver obviously is good at dealing with adverse car characteristics, no?

Or are you talking about this whole laughable notion of drivers being key development drivers of a car's competitiveness? At which point I could point to 2009 where Lewis drove the worst car of his entire career, but later on in the season the car improved dramatically and he had four pole positions and two wins. "Oh that's cuz the car improved a ton!" Well if you're the sort who believes drivers are responsible for development, then surely Lewis deserves credit for that dramatic turnaround no? You cant have it both ways.

Right calm down everyone

I've spent the last few hours working and chilling so have had time to digest what we've seen.

The problem is balance. Not pure performance. The balance was good on day 2, so the team should focus on getting back to that window. That's not as bad as having a lack of raw pace; it can be solved in the simulator.

The team isn't too worried - you know the Italian media would be going for Freddy V's head by now otherwise.

Once they sort the balance out we have about a 3-4 tenth deficit to McLaren.
This can be solved by:
A) winning the short development war before focusing on 26

B) our strong driver lineup always getting the maximum out of the cars (more than McLaren's drivers)

C) all of the above

So let's stay calm, there's two weeks until Melbourne - why doom and gloom the whole time

Don't you know? A good driver will solve every mechanical issue with the car with their own two hands... if they can't do that then they're obviously a terrible driver!

I don't mind the "pessimism" about the car because I think having a variety of opinions is good. But blaming the drivers, one of who is a 7-time world champion and the other who has been one of the best drivers on the grid for years, is too unreasonable to me.

Of course it doesn't. lol That's the whole point. That how I 'feel' about it doesn't change reality one bit. Having 'faith' doesn't matter. Simply believing very strongly Ferrari will be great doesn't help the car go through the corners better at all. My beliefs are based on observations and nothing else. I'm a massive Ferrari fan. But I put that aside when judging how I think things are going because I dont see any benefit in life in deluding myself about things.

I think I'm being a complete realist here, but you dont want to admit it because I'm saying things you dont want to hear. Which is literally the exact opposite of being a realist.

A bunch of you wildly overreacted to some very mild criticism I had early on, and then as my observations actually bore out over the whole test, and Ferrari failed to show anything that would indicate they've made a huge leap forward that they needed, I simply said the obvious(that everybody else in the world also is obviously seeing) that Mclaren are clearly ahead of us. Even Leclerc himself said they are lacking compared to Mclaren.

Nothing I'm saying should be controversial. The problem is moreso that some of y'all are incapable of handling negativity. But that's what being a realist is about, handling things reasonably whether good or bad. Being a realist does not mean being purely neutral on opinions/outlook.

Dude I remember the 2019 tests when everyone was saying SF90 is the champion after the tests, but in reality Mercedes was way faster, especially in the races, that's why the tests are just tests, Ferrari looked pretty decent yesterday, I think Hamilton's lap of 1.29.3 was pretty easy, even Leclerc's race simulation yesterday was decent, with his ERS being low. I think McLaren is a bit ahead, but I think Ferrari and the other teams will be pretty close.

Do you know why they never caught the balance issues in the simulator? I don’t know how they work but I thought something like that would show up.

Curious because now they are taking about “feeding” the info back into the sim to get a better read etc.

I am actually with Seanspeed on this.
If day2 to day3 temp changes can ruin the 'balance' of the car, it means the 'working window' is not wide enough.
That said, when the changes are drastic, not having a wide setup window when the car takes to the track for the first time, is normal, isn't it ?
All the 'big four' teams made suspension changes, and all of them struggled for balance going from day2 to day3, just that McLaren 'solved' their balance issues within first half of day3. Kudos to them. However, knee-jerk 'we are doomed' reactions or 'we are Ferrari, show some faith in this religion' etc (both typical of Tifosi crowd) is suited to 'vibes' media like facebook/insta , not suited to a 'technical' focussed forum like this.

Joining you guys for this team this year.
I would say I am neutral to the 3 days of testing.
The car seems predictable, which is what I think is more important at this stage.
The weak rear end seemed to be inherent even from the fiorano shake down. However, It should be fixable with engine mapping and setup. It only behaves like this in some corners.
I trust that the team is seeing in real life what they designed for. This is encouraging.
I would give the team 3 races to sort the car out. Even if the first race is crap, the car has room to tweak.
The ace up their sleeve is the driver pairing. Other teams like Redbull and Mercedes have a 50% unpredictability with inexperienced drivers.
If Ferrari is 4th fastest, we still will be likely to be strongest in constructors by round 3.
This is not Lewis' first rodeo and he had a crap car for 3 years. He will be able to calmly get some race pace out of the SF25, and not being myopic about just beating his teammate. He doesnt have anything to prove.
All in all i don't think we have seen enough of the cars to be alarmed about. McLaren were expected to be strongest. Redbull look like they will have reliability issues as usual in the early rounds. George doesnt have Lewis as a reference, so can go down the wrong path with setting up for the race. I am not worried about sf25 at all.
