I do hope they will make improvements later in the season to build momentum for 2026.

Some interesting comments by Alonso -
"The car itself is basically the '24 car, it's only the outside and all the aerodynamic parts that did change a lot, for performance," said Alonso.

"But let's say the engines, radiators, driveshafts, suspension - everything is the same as '24 so we don't need the normal race distances and so many laps like we will need next year, probably, when it's crucial to test the reliability."

If only change on AMR25 over AMR24 is 'Aero Surface' ; expecting any progress over Abu Dhabi(where AM was 8th fastest) is useless. Does that mean, AM is waiting on Newey to analyze & provide direction to build 'AMR25-B Spec'?
Pre-season testing seems to be a data gathering exercise for Spec-B.
They won't build a spec 2, the AMR 25 is the AMR 24 spec 2. They didn't change chassis and everything else to save the money for the 2026 which is the big goal, in fact is the project Newey will focus on.

It doesn't make sense to work on 2025. It will be painful but necessary at this point.

Formulapassion is saying Cardile will not arrive until July 17th. Stroll Sr. is “furious” about it

Keeping the disappointment of pre-season testing aside; someone should record & share Newey's first day at office when the legend will arrive in 'Green' attire for the first time.
Starting of a new era for the team.

With Newey starting tomorrow... do we need a new team thread?

This season could be a lot of fun because it looks like McLaren, Ferrari, RB (or more specifically, Max) and MB may be very evenly matched. It is still not known about Williams although it seems that they have improved a lot, but it must be confirmed.

The plan is simple: AM can't let that gang take all the points. At the same time, they must not allow other teams to pass them.

But until the third race (more or less) we will not have enough information to draw valid conclusions.

...This wait is a martyrdom and a curse, without a doubt.

Take care, there are serious cases of F1 virus infection in this forum !!!

As I know, nobody allow to stack money up. I mean they can't spend more than cost cap a year ,doesn't matter if you spent nothing or all the cost cap.

There is no source that indicates that the chassis is a takeover (where you could really save money), but some guys always intrepret the words of drivers/teams the way they like it.

Maybe they are able to reuse some 2024 parts (suspension parts or whatever), but that won't be the world.

It's highly possible tough that they will use some of the 2025 budget to build already parts for 2026, as test will likely already start in January.

I wouldn't think AMR would sacrifice this year completely. Considering 2026, it will be very difficult to be competitive on the first year, new engine, own suspension and gearbox.
Also the testing done by AMR was not standard as done by other team, they maybe testing something for a B Spec, i am hoping for some Suprise.

Listening to the team that was never the question.

Moreover, if it is true that they put the new model (2026) only in the new tunnel - there were so many fake news lately that also this information is at least worth questioning - then they use all tunnel time so far for the 2025 model...

Wind tunnel period 1 of 2025 ended yesterday.

CGI will be used to make a space look grander and larger than what it is in reality.
